I kept thinking no, stop, you’re going to mess it up! But you created a fantastic painting and you really got your point across to have fun, take chances and everything can be fixed. Thanks for a great demonstration.

Hi Paula, well I'm glad I didn't mess it up! That's a real possibility but shouldn't keep us from trying. I'm glad my point was clear. Thanks so much for commenting! Have a great weekend.

I use a fairly standard limited palette (Ultramarine Blue, Yellow Ochre and Alizarin Crimson + Titanium White) for landscape painting here in Australia but also use Burnt Sienna at times and booster colours like Viridian and Lemon Yellow for a bit of punch in the foreground and sometimes the sky if needed. I'd like to introduce Cerulean Blue at some stage but, being a relatively new oil painter (had a 30yr gap year) I'm happy to limit myself for quite a few paintings (maybe 100) so as to learn how to mix colours.

Almost always use a limited palet: lemonyellow, ultramarine , alyzarin and white

That sounds like a really workable combination. I'll have to try it. Thanks for tuning in and for your comment!
