I think it's about a guy who loves this girl, but realizes that she's just messing with him and screws him over. While he is taking all this abuse he finds that if he leaves everything will be okay, in the beginning of the song he wakes up to read her letter saying that she wants to end it, but she won't, she never will, just likes to mess with him and he gets to the point where he just wants to take his life, and give his life to her but finally says to hell with it and leaves. Such a shame that it became a "Cool Bandwagon" thing to hate on them and make fun of their music.. I remember magazines trashing them and countless people in the "early" internet day's mocking them. Such a great band that I feel like in the next several year's will be looked back at and fully appreciated. 🤘

Limp Bizkit was considered controversial. Parents basically viewed them as encouraging bad behavior and rebelliousness. So radio stations were a bit less likely to play them. They were also on the edge of new music at the time, so it didn't sound like what most adults were used to. They had a huge draw for younger crowds though, and they are still huge for the people that grew up listening to their music. A lot of that draw was also in seeing them live and the mosh pits, which has kind of gone out of style due to the potential danger. Unfortunately at the same time a lot of the instrumentals have gotten better and recording of both sound and video quality has improved over the past couple decades. So a lot of the younger generation care more about the new music that is coming out now, this just sounds a bit old to them. From the bands perspective why update the instrumentals and recording quality when you can make something new instead? Also the tastes of the artists tend to change a bit as they grow older and experience more, likely they don't connect to their old songs in the same way as when they first recorded them. I think Limp Bizkit just came out with another album in 2021? Same thing has kind of happened with other bands that I love. Like Finger Eleven. They have some old songs that would be huge hits today if they were redone and updated. But why spend time on that when you can make new music and new albums, plus does the band even still feel the same about those songs decades later? I'd imagine their feelings are different, they feel like they could do better, and/or it's just boring to rework your old projects.

chocolate starfish was quite bad, comparative to significant other, the unquestionable truth and Three Dollar Bills, those were real nu metal, even results may vary was more innovative than this whine full pop nu metal album. This album was a cash out for more radio play, sadly Bizkit can't go do something as hardcore as they used to be because of their pop metal fans that enjoy this album. If you watch live shows, Fred frequently mentions those "hardcore fans" during his fakeout Three dollar bill riffs that lead into a chocolate starfish song. We love this band, and what they're done but I'm sorry to say this album can't be compared to their better work.
