Wes Borland is unique and irreplaceable, his style is the LB sound we associate with the band. That being said, Mike Smith did an awesome job filling in for those years Wes was gone. The Sanitarium cover during the Metallica MTV Icons show was amazing and Mike takes all the credit for it IMO.

@RainbowDreams30 he has that awesome Gibson SG that he plays in this video and despite being 29 when this video game out he doesn’t look close to 30 in this video compared to John Otto who’s 26 in this video. Great guitarist just not a great stage presence that I 100 % agree with. But this I think is the only video that a limp bizkit guitarist plays a Gibson SG.

I'm saddened by the fact that no one mentions how great of an actress the girl is. "Only" sitting, barely moving, really looking frightened in the beginning, the reaction to when Fred gets close with the loudspeaker, the face on the panties part, and the subtle change in expression when the music subdues to the concern at the end. 2:10 - I might not be "cool" to have liked Limp Bizkit back in the day but that is one of the best contrasting interludes you will ever hear, they take the song from a testosterone-fueled, creepy rant to something quite beautiful and splendidly melodic. It is a wonderful way to illustrate that even our worst behaviors/ideals can come from a place is objectively honest and good - "I just want to look at you, oooooo all day. There ain't nothing wrong. No. There ain't nothing wrong with that. Once you seep in, under my skin, there's nothing in this world that could wash you away.". That's musical talent and, more importantly, an ability to communicate clearly through their music. Eventually we will long for the days of bands like this, but until then I'm prepared to catch hell for sticking by LB.

This song combined with the music video is a low-key masterpiece. It perfectly demonstrates a man's animalistic nature with an intense obsession for a beautiful blonde women (Thora Birch). It kind of reminds me of the classic monster movie King Kong. For the first two minutes and nine seconds we witness the man's seemingly dangerous and obsessive behavior has he aggressively screams his emotions in a threatening manner. Then at 2:10 the change in tempo sets a calmer mood as the man romantically declares his obession for her as he apologizes for his actions. Convincing her that he means her no harm, the women, in a classic display of Stockholm syndrome, empathizes with her captor as she seems to develop an emotional and psychological bond with him. Towards the end of the video we see the late Bill Paxton perfectly act out his anger as he realizes our beautiful blonde victim as allowed her captor to get away.

alright, here we go 1: Fred Durst is (or at least was, don't know what he's like now) a manchild. Complete douche, super unlikeable. 2: Fred's voice. A lot of the instrumentals are good or even great, but then Fred starts """singing""" and all I can hear is a toddler crying. 3: The lyrics. All of their lyrics are either a manchild whining about how high school was hard, are plain stupid, or just straight up disgusting, like in this song. 4: it's boring. When they make a slow, melodic song, it drones on and is just super uninteresting the whole time. So yeah, that's why I and many others hate limp Bizkit.

They have a really good way of capturing certain moments of unbridled passion this band. There are quite a few songs by Limp Bizkit that touch on philosophical elements, that actually require you to think. So, it is a bit beyond me why anyone would call Fred Durst an idiot.

This is an excellent song (barring the creepiness some people mention) and Results May Vary is a really underrated album! Give it a listen if you haven't. About Results May Vary, reviewer Stephen Thomas Erlewine writes, "the music has no melody, hooks, or energy". Honestly, you'd have to be tone deaf if you think that songs like Underneath the Gun, Build a Bridge etc. have no hooks or melody.
@AntoRetroGamer9 жыл бұрын

I don't get it why this album is so hated and sold so poor. It's so diverse from chill songs like Behind Blue Eyes, Drown, Build a Bridge to more energetic or even aggressive like Eat You Alive, Phenomenon or Head for the Barricade. I live that there's so little rap elements and more rock and metal, because Fred's voice really shines in it. Imo in this album they inserted the most work or maybe at the same level as Chocolate Starfish.
@jdbruiser Жыл бұрын
@@dragontony1000 I think it's because many of the songs are fraught with heavy sentiments. The previous album was successful because there was an emphasis on anthems that made you want to get up and jam with them, but Results May Vary is deeper and deeper doesn't get people as invested.
