@@ibrahimmiftari3826 fixing these problems. Two choices. Be willing to dump money into it no matter what it takes or take your losses and get another car. I had a nice Mercedes SUV. Did whatever I could to fix it. Am I willing to spend aleast $2000 in more parts and it still doesn't fix it ? This is one thing if noticed with all these plastic parts and cheap wires under the hood. They don't like heat. If you take a plug off a sensor, and the plastic is fragile and cracks easy, think about the rest of that plastic crap.

2014 Eagle diesel Dodge Ram 3.0 easy fix There's a sensor on top of the engine right beside the turbo hose. The black square sensor on the engine pulls it off clean it put it back in, and your problem is solved. They know averages driver habits. Here unusual sound, I'll just ignore it. It will probably go away or I'll fix it 6 months later. Car breaks down. Oh no Idk why it just broke down, it was working fine this week. It didn't show any symptoms.

@@johnnyp3839 That's true, one thing affects the other, but if you don't have diagnostics, you can't see any issues unless you pay a lot for a mechanic to plug his £2,000 professional diagnostics device (android/Linux tablet) in and press a button. Thankfully, you can get DTC readers cheap now, with very useful live data too, but most people have no clue they are out there, so they get zero benefit and all the negatives. Plus, the things that cause most issues are faulty sensors. I bought a DTC reader and fixed my car myself. Saved about 2 grand.

Always check your car battery first when your car goes into Limp mode. Low voltage will throw up codes and have to changing unnecessary parts. If yout car batter voltage is below 12.5v when the engine is not turned on, the replace your battery and check your alternator first. Low voltage is often the culprit for limp mode issues.

Funny. It's also dangerous. Example. I just got on the freeway near home. Going 65. Limp mode hits car drops quick to 40 and is stuck in 2nd gear. Women behind me drives around me gets in front and hits her breaks. Yah break check. She thinks I slowed down on purpose just to piss her off. She got off the same next exit as me. Then started hitting breaks in front of me on the exit. So I try to just drive around her. But she speeds up.

Great video, thank you mate! I would like to add another comment about Limp Mode. I have an E46 BMW 328i, the car stood for 4 months while I was overseas with battery disconnected. Upon my return I connected the battery, car started first time but when I switched on the aircon the Limp Mode light came on & virtually no response from the accelerator. I would stop, switch off the car, restart and Limp Mode light would go out, I would then switch on aircon and car would go into Limp Mode again - this happened about 4 times. I got home, put a battery tester on the battery and it indicated that it was in a poor state of charge. I did an overnight charge and the problem solved. Cheers 🛠👍

My Nissan maxima 2016 went in to limp mode once. My issue was that my alternator went out at 80k miles. Once it got replaced my car was running again and my transmission worked perfect fine.

Hi mate, my vw Passat 2.0tdi 2007 has a flashing glow plug light on and the car has no power after 2000rpm. Plugged in a computer and it saying dpf and glow plugs issue .can a blocked dpf coaurse the glow plug light to flash and go into limp mode. Even with going through every possable thing that could have put my car into limp mode and would get it running and driving great. It would always go back into limp mode no matter what I did. So here is the thing it would have had to go to a dealer to clear it in the ECM. By the time I figured that out I was done with the car and just scrapped it.

You laugh but its a serious problem for people who struggle financially. The 3rd party warranty companies will rip people off also because they find any and all preexisting issues (pre-warranty) to void the warranty thus relieving themselves from responsibility but keep you past monthly payments. I had this exact issue with an 98 madza3 with 121k miles on it, once it spun the bearing(known issue with mazda3's) they then said that the vehicle had a rebuild title and that it being branded as such voided the warranty. Mind you they never checked the title or asked about the title when setting up the warranty. Once they told me they weren't honoring the warranty I made them refund all 17 monthly payments I made against the policy. Needless to say, they didn't like that and I'm permanently banned from their service(not that I'd ever use them again anyway LOL)😅😂

My 2015 F250 6.2 L gas engine truck went into limp mode because the dime sized rubber disc on my brake pedal fell off . The disc is the contact for the brake switch. With out that disc the brake lights will not go off . Which amounts to an unsafe operation. There was no codes . I glued it back in place and the truck ran great.

Hey, I’m not really sure how to describe my situation, I think she limped but not entirely sure. The car drove fine till today. As I was stopping on a red light, on a mini highway, I had to pick up speed after the green. My car reached I wanna say 30km/hr she like went almost like she wanted to die. The car had no power and I had a huge rubber duck head, but the problem lasted not even a second, I couldn’t even see the lights that turned on fast enough, but im pretty sure the engine light and battery went on. Mines doing the same also on my challenger. I replaced the throttle body, did a relearn, I replaced the battery, nothing, I replaced the pedal accelerator sensor, relearn, nothing. I can't find the problem. No one apparently knows how to fix it on a challenger 😒

Hi I have a VW t4 2.5 TDI.automatic the automatic ecu have no fault codes. The engine ecu has charge pressure control negative deviation p1556 code. Have changed the n75 valve, have changed the maff . Have checked intake pipes for leaks. Have replaced o ring on turbo intake . Garage has looked at it and checked too. All vacuum pipes seam to be ok. When I brought it it add an EGR delete. So I believe EGR is not the problem. Was told by garage to put a boost gauge on which I have done to check the psi . It is showing a psi between 6and 7 . The symptoms are when going up incline it goes into limp mode . If I switch the engine off and back on it drives fine for a while, then goes back into limp uphill or incline. When I installed the boost gauge,l accidentally did not attach the vacume pipe to the waistgate. The van drove exactly the Same ,limp mode on incline.turn off engine and drove ok until next incline. How can it drive ok without the vacuum pipe attached to the waistgate. I am wondering if this is the turbo itself. Or could it be the fuel pump that is.faulty Or fuel solenoid.. garage is going to fit a manual boost control . To override the n75. I don't think it will work because it drives the same without the vacuum pipes attached to the waistgate. Your advice would be very much appreciated thank you so much for your video.

I had the same problem after I changed conductor plate. I took it apart again and replaced all those solenoids in the shift body. Dealer said I had to get it recalibrated. But that's bulsh!t. Car works perfect now.

Yes, there are many apps (i.e. Torque, or DashCommander) you can use for this. But you'll need an OBD2 bluetooth adapter, too.

Could you please provide advice on how to hook up the scanner? I would like to know if I can acquire a scanner so that my car will at least tell me what's wrong. After weeks of not being able to use my car because it wouldn't go and waiting for the service center to fit it in for a diagnostic (they were quite busy since the scanner at their other center wasn't working and they were doing the work of two centers), and the car finally getting fit in and being in there overnight, the actual problem ended up being blown brake light globes and a faulty light switch, costing me only $8.00 to have fixed. Hey, which car do you have? Most newer cars are compatible with various code readers and scanners that you can buy quite cheap. For instance, you can get an OBD2 Bluetooth adapter that connects to your smartphone over an app (you can download it for free from Apple Store/Google Play), and they work very well for most of basic things.

I have a 2015 kia soul 2.0 engine and was going to change out my MAF sensor, but I don't know where it is. I called the dealer and the service department told me that it's located between the throttle body and the air filter, but there is no sign of a sensor of any kind between the 2 devices. While doing a search on another channel, I was told that it could also be somewhere on the intake manifold, but I'm not seeing it there either! Is it possible that there isn't one on this engine? When I looked up the part on Amazon, it lists the part as MAF0034. Please help, I'm at a loss at this point!

The Limp home mode almost killed me! In the middle of the night on the Russian step between Volgograd and Astrakhan my Chrysler Voyager went into limp. It was minus 30 celsius outside and the car wouldn't go faster then 30 kph in second gear. There are no mechanic shops, because there are nothing within 8 hours of driving in normal speed. No gas stations, no houses, no traffic at night. No phone coverage. With a car full of children and people the only option was to continue. After a 24 hour journey of getting passed by honking trucks we got to Astrakhan, but by then the transmission was shot. Back then you couldn't find anyone who could repair the car in Russia. The only option was to just leave it there, since transporting it 3000 km to west Europe cost to much. I am sure the car would have made it without problems without the limp home shit. Before starting the trip I had an oil and filter change on the transmission and the shop put the wrong oil in it. This caused a sensor to complain. The Japanese tranny didn't like Dextron 3. It's a common fault on Voyagers.

@@pjjoseph6015 It's a wast area of nothing really. Bone dry, except in spring when there is a lot of flowers. From the car you basically only cows and horses that are very skinny walking about. There are no fences and they do cross the road. Where there is wet lands around Volga river it's more lively. A lot of frogs, one for every step you take. The steppe though is flat, very windy and no treas or bushes. Oh and war memorials everywhere.

I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler JK, camshaft position sensor bank 1 error code is lighting up and I replaced the sensor with an OEM part, but still getting the error code and it's putting the engine into limp mode. Thinking about removing the TIPM and cleaning it, along with disconnecting the battery terminals and connecting them together to drain the power out, then doing a hard reset.

Hi, I stupidly accidentally let my 2012 chevy cruze run out of gas on April 3rd, 2023. Once I pulled to the shoulder it shut off. I then tried to restart it. When I did, the engine shuttered, vibrated roughly then I immediately shut it off. Then the reduced engine light has come on and is in reduced power mode after that. Despite trying the turning the key trick to try to reset it, it's still on. It's still on even after putting more gas in it. So now its driving power is reduced. Friends came to help me and put a little gas in the car. Before going anywhere he used his code scanner thing. He said no codes popped up on the screen. But the reduced light is on and its performance is now reduced. What on earth is going on and how screwed am I now?

Detailed video. May I know if the car is in limp mode if I get high RPM than normal like 4000 RPM at 60 MPH? 2004 TOYOTA RAV4 4WD Automatic. If not, what are possible causes of high RPM in Toyota Rav4? Thank you.

It seems your RAV doesn't shift beyond 3th gear, @juliustay2541. Do you have any warning lights on the dashboard?

@@MechanicBase yes check engine light and code P0713 and P2238. I have replaced the upstream oxygen sensor and the automatic transmission fluid temperature sensor but codes are still on

I have the feeling that it doesn't shift beyond 3rd gear, I count only 2 active shifts and then no shift again and my RPM remains high like that and keeps rising if I accelerate the more. Several local mechanics have assured me that the 4th gear (my last since it's 4 speed automatic) is silent in changing and that's why I don't see it changing by the reduction in RPM. So I have been wondering what could cause that high RPM with a bad fuel economy.

@MechanicBase I drive a 2014 polo gti 1.4 DSG. It drives fine in manuel and sports mode. But in automatic mode it randomly goes into limp mode then I need to take my foot off the accelerator and put it back on then it would drive normally again. Or if it goes into limp mode then I just put the car in manual mode and it would drive fine. What could be the issue

When in limp mode does you car tell you you are in park, reverse, drive? My automatic transmission car went into limp mode could not go faster then 25mph or so, dashboard did not tell me that I was in drive when I was drive and shifted nasty hard when going from park to reverse or drive to reverse I got the one code u0101 which is a tcm code

my 2012 KIA was in an Official Kia service for 3 MONTHS. The total amount I end up paying was $2714! But the problem was fixed after they change the CONTROL ASSY-HEATHER which costs around $100. Yes, $100, instead of $2714. Maybe this information could be useful to someone. My car was going in LIMP MODE. Seems it was a very very rare case. Something that they had never seen before. They change many expensive parts (like the wiring harness and PCM control) and the car was not working. I had to pay for all those changes without solving anything. It has been almost 9 months since they fixed and the car is working great! Hopefully continues this way!

This is the second time my 2012 Kia went into limp mode in 5 months in heavy rain. Was $600 to fix. New fuel injectors, spark plugs, etc. but wtf every time it rains heavy I gotta do this?

I got my o2 sensor changed and after 50 odd miles and then suddenly my car didn't want to accelerate properly or judders at certain throttle points. Don't know of this happens if they did not reset the ECU or if it's potentially my wiring is not happy.

Does Limp mode show up with diagnostics? My Ford S-Max diesel, when it goes weird, sounds like a cylinder is out of action, but it says "engine malfunction" and the ESP light comes on (skidding car icon). Is this a characteristic of limp mode? Or is it in limp mode because of a malfunctioning cylinder(injector/plug etc)? I did self-tests in FORscan, and it passed all tests, apart from there was an ABS error and a tyre pressure sensor was malfunctioning. This is a nightmare. There's also an injector code (a short I think), but says engine light is OFF for this error and "this DTC is not currently present". We had an injector replaced in the last couple of years. Also, the horn is not working, not sure if that matters.

I have a 2010 camaro ss, it goes in limp mode only when I smash the pedal and I can still shift in all my gears but it runs ruff and stalls out sometimes, sometime u can start it while it like that sometime no, but I can get it back normal changing a small 50 cent fuse in the fuse box but it keeps coming back when the car does goes in Limp mode it said fuel pump control module took it to the mechanic 3 times he said it’s an electrical issue

For a start, you should have the codes scanned - these will help a lot in pinpointing the problem.

Good Morning. I just got a 2010 VW Passat 1.6TDi. It came with one of those nasty Yellow lights on dash Engine light on. Changed all Glow Plugs then Coil light started flashing then limp mode. After Dynostics EGR Failure. Replaced and lights went off. Then coil flashing limp mode. Checked wiring fuses all good. Turn car off and on all good for 5 minutes then limp again driving between 1400 and 2000rpm. While fldriving quick key off on and all good. Drive at 2500 to 3000rpm and no limp mode for as far as I want to go till I drive under 2000rpm then Glow coil flashing and limp mode

I am the owner of a Skoda Yeti 1.2 TSI, model year 2008 and I am facing the following problem. For a long time now, when the engine is idling and the engine is cold, I feel a shudder in the steering wheel and the cabin in general, and the vehicle goes into limp mode. when the engine reaches temperature then the vehicle works normally. It should be noted that I did a revamp at the engine at August. Spark plugs, spark plug wires and multiplier are new. Does anyone have a similar experience and if so how did they solve it?

I jumped off my kia sorento with my 2004 7 series. A few days after, my BMW went into limp mode. No power, would only go into 1 gear. Didn't immediately understand that the issue was jumping off the suv, which I did about twice more, i stopped jumping the suv off, and continued driving the BMW in limp and in a day or two it corrected itself. Sometimes you don't need to overthink it🤷🏾‍♂️

Actually, most cars will get back out of limp mode after you shut it down and restart it.

When my car reaches 3,500 to 4,000 RPM it shakes like it's going to die. What is the problem with this? My car is a VW Golf plus 6 TSI gasoline. It was replaced with an Air pressure sensor because I noticed that the old one was steam. but the problem is still not gone, please help me.

My advice. If you do all the common simple things to fix it and you find nothing, get rid of the car. Sure you don't want to. The car, you have well taken care of it, but now you are screwed. If I lived in a state with no emissions test, no problem, I'd just put another engine in it. Like a small block Chevy and call it good. Guy in town has a SBC in a Volkswagen.

Truly, no matter what the issue is, if the car detects it, the car should tell us directly-exactly what it's detecting, and give us the option to bypass it. I don't need to die out there in a limped car because of a F'ing dirty air filter...

60mph seems very fast for limp mode - could just be reduced power for another reason and not limp mode.

Pls help. I was using my dad's Nissan car. I have a permit. I was doing a u-turn and suddenly I notice a change of speed, and my dad's car won't go past speed 40. I wasn't sure if it went into limp mode or not. Idk how to fix it, I'm too scared to mention it to my dad. While I was u-turning I couldn't fully turn. I have to back up the car and change gear again to fully turn out of the road. After that the car lost speed and won't get past 40. Is there any way I can do to get the car back to normal? I tried checking my dad's car, but there's no warning or anything.

Hi, my 2004 VW TDI 2.0 had a lower boost hose tear but was still running ok, despite making a loud swoosh noise coming out of it while accelerating. I changed the hose but now my car is in limp mode, is there a reset procedure that one needs to do after a replacement? Thank you and any help would be appreciated!

Angus, can you check what codes are stored? Also, you can try disconnecting the battery for 10-20 minutes - that might help😉
