I have added all the loops together and crocheted them into circles to make Matts. We did this originally in Girl Scouts when I was a little girl and we made two mats and then sew them together with a Sunday newspaper in between apparently that was the thickness you needed to make this a seat cushion and not be cold, sitting on the metal benches at the football games, lots of fun things to try here I’m 70 and never too old to learn something new

I never learned to crochet. Maybe someday. Love the seat cushion idea. Happy Upcycling. 🙂

Get yourself a drop spindle. Not the ones you use with a bowl, a proper drop spindle. Chain your loops together before you start spinning. Spin your chain all at once, then ply your stands together. You might find a ball winder to be a great timesaver as well. Thanks for the vid, I've crocheted the strips before, but not spun them first. Definitely delivers a better looking result.

I’ve watched many plarn videos b4 but this seems so much easier and your video and explanation of how to achieve this twine/rope from plastic bags makes it much easier to understand. Thank you so much

maybe a dumb question but once you slide it off the crochet hook, what keeps it from unravelling at the end...
@UpcycleDesignLab21 күн бұрын
Hi that's not a dumb question. Actually it does unwind so I always pull a bag strip through the end and when you are working with the cord you will want to glue the ends. Thanks for watching.
