​@@emersonlee9968because LCW is MUCH more fit than LD. LD just has better shot quality, shot decision, and mental strength. LCW better speed and power (even LD said LCW was hardest MS smasher during an interview).

The only way to explain LD beats LCW but not Momota is that LD only brings his best when meeting LCW, but against other players he's a lot less motivated to win. During that time, Momota was still a newcomer just beginning to make an impression, he was not yet a threat to LD's legacy thats why LD did not feel the need to protect his legacy. But against LCW its different, he knows that LCW is his main rival of his same time period, so he will always give his best. With Momota, the newcomer is arriving at a time when LD is already 3 years past his prime, so its ok even if he loses, it can be explained by old age, no shame at all. Momota simply got lucky he's not arriving during LD's prime ...

LD's last match with LCW was 2018 All England, which is in 03/2018 and the last match they played before that was at the Asia Championship in 04/2017 - nearly a year ago and Lin Dan was still really fit in 2017. LD and Momota first match after Momota got off from suspension is in 09/2018. Ever since the second half of 2018, everybody was able to beat Lin Dan. There was a tournament where Lin Dan got so frustrated with Momota, every time Momota scores a point on him, he tosses the shuttle on the other side of Momota's court. That basically means he never thought it was okay to lose to Momota, but Momota was just too good and cornered the crap out of him (along with everyone else)

woot, Lin Dan is using the forehand serve on the uneven side and back end side serve on the even side. Strange, if anything I would thing the opposite better as it close the point of contact with the bird closer to the T instead of further way. Although, Momota is a lefty, may be it was to surprise him with a flat serve on his back side that Lin Dan opted to serve this way? I don't know.

Lin Dan before this match has already won every important title there is and have nothing more to prove, before Momota era, Lin Dan is only fueled by playing against Lee Chong Wei which always motivated him to play his best. With all the money, fame and recognition, Lin Dan has no more motivations to play or prove anymore, he was draggy and motivation-less in this match which was very obvious compared to when he played against Lee Chong Wei before LCW retired and you can see how fast, focused and powered Lin Dan was. It's a soul-less performance from Lin Dan in this match possibly distracted by some personal issues or lack of motivations in playing anymore. Lin Dan never played like this during his prime.

记得有一场18年林丹跟桃田的比赛，林丹明显连半场球都杀不死桃田。而桃田一旦找到机会，专门往林丹身上杀，即使场上有很多空地可以得分。这场比赛让我对桃田的性格有了比较明确的认识。我觉得他这么做不是因为这是最好的得分方式，而是觉得这么做没问题。这跟苏卡慕约模仿刘雨辰动作来气双塔组合一样。 我那时候就觉得作为世界排名第一单打，这么做未免有些小家子气，不够心胸博大。 我一直认为，桃田作为超一流选手，赢林丹多少分都不是问题，但是专门往林丹身上招呼，说明他空有超一流技术，没有超一流的气度。 经历了奥运输球，22年谁都输的桃田，已经泯然众人矣了。回过头看当时桃田对林丹的表现，我觉得他那时就是想通过踩林丹来证明自己，并没有那种舍我其谁的王霸之气。 所以一旦状态不好，输两场球，就失去那种老子天下第一的自信了。

可以看出如果林丹年轻几岁，那桃田贤斗就绝对不会是林丹的对手。暮年林丹想要用老方法，尽量消耗尽对手的体力，然后赢后两局，但是没能成功。
