I may get one of these, or i may buy a used Miller bobcat or something idk... tbh i don't really wanna stick weld everything, so i'll probably get one of these. but the bob cat would potentially save money, bc it's also it's own generator... decisions decisions haha.

RICK BORK I've seen two different Lincoln 140's, What's the difference in the Lincoln Weld Pak 140 HD and the *Lincoln Pro Mig 140*?? Are they the same or which one is better? Thanks
@nxtlightdesign74403 жыл бұрын
Are you pushing or pulling on this? I'm confused on which direction works better?
@kylehaidet15233 жыл бұрын
On solid wire... pushing, pulling, and straight up and down all have their own uses. I can’t remember exactly but changing angle gives your weld different characteristics such as reinforcement and strength. It also changes the shape of the outcome of your weld. Pushing gives a wider and more flat weld wile pulling gives a taller shape. Everything you do is equal when you go perpendicular with your angle. This is what I was told in school... it’s been a while tho say may not be perfectly correct word for word lol. When using any flux based welding you always pull however or else you get slag inclusions
@BigBoyNowYT3 жыл бұрын
With mig I always pull.

@RickBork4 жыл бұрын
It is actually quite common depending on the application to reverse to polarity of the welder. The principal is the same using electricity to weld but the direction the current is flowing makes a difference in the quality of the weld. Hope that makes sense.
@thercentertainer19504 жыл бұрын
Reversing polarity is not at all dangerous. On many flux, or gasless processes, you would have the polarity dc electrode negative. This means that the wire feed is negative, or the stick in some cases. DCEN gives more heat that DCEP, or dc electrode positive. 2/3 of heat goes through ground making it ideal for digging processes sutch as fcaw or smaw, but inideal for the process in the vid, gmaw, using gas.
@Mannshtt2 ай бұрын
Clamp is negative. Flux core needs DC negative which is clamp to positive and whip to negative. That’s reverse polarity. When using gas you run the whip to positive and the ground clamp (negative) to the negative post. Nice video otherwise.
