Watch out for them killer volts! Make a Tessla spark generator. I had a Drake TR22 back in the 90s that I got in a horse trade. I think it was like one watt. I made a bettery pack for it. I was tokd it was made by Trio, i.e. Kenwood and rebadged Drake. The TenTec ground box kinda is like an antenna tuner for a ground wire counterpoise, a sort of artificial ground. Ten four on the HTX252 mic, good deal, and in better shape. It's a pretty good little rig for portable. It did well with a mag mount. I had an old Lafayette AM six meter rig, I prefer AM to SSB, sadly few do AM above 75m. AM 6m and 2m would be too local for nets. But is fun for small groups, you'd practically own the freq. I wish we'd go to ham meets, but Edie no want, and we too poor. Maybe Dayton next year?

Thanks Don for the 411! Unfortunately no one does AM hear as well, barely SSB...however I plan on doing AM...since not to many AM receivers or scanners that do AM, its almost like a private channel...10m, 6m and 70cm kinda dead hear as well, so we will use those bands for the same reason! Seen videos of folks at Dayton, we'd like to go as well, we just like going to them in general...have lotsa fun and meet nice folks. 73's OM. ~Jack, VEG

Wow sorry I missed that one Jack Ron never informed me of that one or i would have gone. Looks like you got a lot of great stuff and a lot of it free can't beat that price. thanks for sharing jack. Even I have a Heathkit Twoer got it at ham and Hifi I believe he wanted $20 got him down to $5. Somebody had reworked it.

Don't feel bad Larry, Ron never told us niether1 We had to learn from the streets! :) Actually, we found several via ARRL website...check it out! We are happy with our haul! We need to make another trip to H&H, always good stuff at good prices! You really should work on getting your ticket! You should demo your Twoer someday. ~Jack, VEG

@@VintageElectronicsGeek The Twoer did have issues. The guy who had it before decided he was going to rewire the transmit received switch but the wire was bare and when I turned it on I didn't notice it and magic smoke came out as it shorted out lol
