A woman's value extends beyond beauty and physicality. With that said, if one capitalizes on beauty and physicality to the exclusion of everything else ... that's not healthy. If there has been damage done here, it's not from the procedure. The damage likely existed before. The damage was likely exacerbated by a career in modeling. Linda, honey, love yourself for something other than the attention that you had as a celebrity model. You have a child who needs you. There are no doubt many people you can help if you can recover from this thing the right way, too. Love is a choice sometimes, so choose to love yourself and the path you're on.

This is spot on…her entire identity is centered around being the gorgeous, jaw dropping, seemingly flawless supermodel of the 90s, which worked in her favour when she was still meeting all the superficial standards established by the modeling industry. But when your entire value as a human is solely based on the degree to which you meet these standards, you‘re playing a losing game, because when you can‘t keep up with them anymore , the very same industry that gave you value and identity will discard you like garbage. And doesn’t Linda‘s situation mirror this dark reality lurking behind the glittery facade of the modeling world…

Vanity caused her to try the procedure. like any other form of body enhancement treatments there is inherent risk. The truth is we age and our bodies change. Our metabolism slows and with nature's gravitational pull it all goes south.The hard and difficult path of maintainance is discipline. Taking charge of what we eat.drink,and an exercise regiment. Unfortunately for those that have made a living in the pop culture limelight, the acceptance of aging is terror. Much of who they are and their identities are based on the external (the ephemeral), looks, voice,trend,etc. I would hope that like the rest of us who are not in the limelight Ms Evangelista will accept the reality of physical change gracefully.

I feel bad for her to a point. But to make pretentious comments like "Versace won't want to dress me". I mean really? My closest girlfriend has suffered from a severe from of debilitating and disabling rheumatoid arthritis where as she ages her entire body will seize and she will die a slow death. So, when I think about my friend and listen to this woman go on about how she is no longer this great beauty anymore because she has these body bulges now irritates me. Look what happened to the once great beauty Kathleen Turner and she has even said herself that people need to get over the fact she does not look the way she used to because she is just happy to be healthy and alive. The issue with Linda is she has only just relied on her outer appearance and has nothing else in her life to create value outside of her beauty. While I truly feel sorry for Evangelista, it points to the pressure that many have trying to preserve their youth. Instead of slower modifications of improving one's health and getting ones BMI to normal levels, many are impatient and want to undergo many things that are truly unnatural. Promoting frostbite, surgical removal of fat, and liposuction all have risks. Be comforted that you have achieved what many only dreamed of. But at your age, I would just try and understand that your youth is behind you, and try and live a positive life. The lawsuits will not make you regain any of the original body contours which were done with your own knowledge of the risks involved. She should have ideally have gone to a board certified plastic surgeon and not a dermatologist. Dermatologists are experts on the skin, but the plastic surgeon has the additional training of working with tissues below the skin. She needs to empower herself to accept who she is as well as the wrong decisions she had gambled with. Not everybody wins.

@@bluedot5150 I'd use a little common sense...anytime one alters what Mother Nature has given them, there's room for trouble. This could be something as little as a bad result from a hair coloring. One is actually taking a perfectly healthy person and making them temporarily ill at their request. It could also be researched on the Internet.

Would you blame the person prescribed oxycodone for becoming a drug addict because the pharmaceutical company downplayed its addictiveness? Society pressures women to be skinny and look perfect but also tells women they are vain if they get any sort of procedure. Women are damn if they do and damned if they don't.

@@bluedot5150 You are absolutely correct about that first statement. I wasn't there so I don't know. What I do know is that each mal-practice carrier mandates that an informed consent be signed by the patient which confers that it was explained to them about the risks and complications of surgery, and that all questions had been answered. Any investigator will find that in her chart. It should have also included the post op period where she needed to wear the compression garments 24 hours a day for so many days. Some patients take them off early. Your second question is a little more complex. Oxycodone is never to be used for long term. In our practice, we only give enough for about 5 days and then switch them over to a powerful non-opioid medication. There is certainly enough literature out there on the Internet about avoiding long term use of the medication. Some people actually buy it off the streets for recreational purposes. There is nothing that forces a man or woman to do anything to themselves. If she were to have taken more care of herself she could have avoided such a procedure. Under a physicians guidance, she could have also opted for a safer much more healthier weight reduction program which would have increase her health parameters. Of course this takes months rather than minutes, but the long term results are more natural, without risks. I encourage women to empower themselves and not to worry about what the tabloids and magazines say they should do.

@@SilverShadow2LWB and that statement was the same as my original statement. We don't know what she was told. Just like how patients didn't know oxycodone was addictive until the opiod crisis began. Sorry but pharmaceutical companies have a dark history of hiding the truth.

Linda was absolutely beautiful back in the 90’s. Unfortunately, beauty doesn’t buy common sense. She didn’t need the surgery. What a waste and what an idiot to have that done too herself.

I honestly don't see any disfigured parts. She looks old and added weight. Disfigurement for me is the result of a freak accident that will leave the person unrecognizable.

This is a problem with celebrities. The succes makes them feel more like a God then human. Then they realize that they are aging as all of us. Still want to convince themselfs that with their money they are still special. . She could be a very good looking older woman but have chosen to be pathetic and funny. She does not deserve our sympathy.

I love her hair cut, her face still looks stunning and lovely, she still has loads of style. I wish I could look this lovely at 60. Linda girl, you need to stop obsessing over what is no more and stop being so hard on yourself. You look beautiful, screw Versace _if they can't dress the body of a 60 year old woman then they have no business staying in business anyway! A good stylist should be able to dress anyone! If they can only dress one body type than they are not designers, but limited, idiot dictators. It's their short coming, ineptitude and incompetence, that they can only dress one body type, not yours _not ours! Human beings come in all shapes, and most also go through different shapes all through the course of their lives _if these so called designers can only dress one of those then, quite frankly, they are the ones who are profoundly inept!! You are not that industry, there is way more to you than what you have been doing for a job. Your job is not you, it's just what you have done for this one ride. There is way more to you than taking pretty pictures, so maybe you should now take this as an opportunity to focus on finding out who you are outside the industry _find something else to do with your gift of life, enjoy the new beautiful you, and the rest of your life. Happiness really is a choice, so is suffering.

This sucks, it really does but it should be a cautionary tale for every young model or women out there! This is the model that said she wouldn’t get out of bed for less the 10K a day!!! That’s like asking for fate to throw you a curveball! You were gifted w/ extreme beauty and privilege your entire life and in the end it did nothing for you! You’re alone and deformed! Did you develop your personality? Did you focus on anything aside from your physical appearance??
@SA-zf9ds Жыл бұрын
True. I thought about that arrogant comment also, and now she doesn’t have to get out of bed at all! Karma has come back to haunt her-as it always does. This is why doctors are required to make you sign consent forms, because you must be aware that something could go wrong!

I dont think ppl realize she didnt just gain weight and not coping with aging..she went in thinking she would remove a little pudge but the reaction she had left her 10 times larger. The reaction simulates MORE growth thats apparently hard to remove because the cells come back

I feel bad for her she is so critical of herself it’s sad she will never see herself as beautiful the way everyone else does. Aging is a normal process this is why even if a person is born beautiful they need to develop personality, skills, strengths seperate from their beauty cause we all lose it one day
@Marissa-ys4qp Жыл бұрын
Honestly, she's a diva trying to look perfect and getting mad that a procedure caused a rare but possible side effect. Aging naturally is much better than putting yourself through this stuff. I hope she doesn't sue me for say that.

This is a known risk and her doctor should have disclosed this risk to her ahead of time, and had her sign off on it. It also sounds like she had it done all over her body, which is not really what the procedure is designed for.

Beauty is far more important than a college degree till around your early 50's. After that, father time switches that equation: A college degree becomes far more valuable than your fading beauty. At around this time, you better hope you got a decent degree in order to sustain the lifestyle you want.
