Nice interview, but what Linda overlooked was that her hit singles with Pink wasn't the only hit singles off of Mizundastood. Dallas Austin had produced some too. That may be a reason why Pink didn't link up with her again.

The first time I listened to Spaceman it went through every inch of my soul, wasn't really sure why since I've been mostly a heavy metal fan, so Linda Perry/Spaceman really opened my mind to a much wider view and expanded my taste of music. Spaceman also influenced and inspired my own writing/creation of a great song/demo that I wrote sitting on my parents porch one beautiful night, so wish the world could hear it

spaceman was my favourite track on the album. quite surprised she said that, not sure why, but i always felt it wasnt maybe her choice of style, probably due to my misconceptions at 14 or 13, however old i was when i bought the tape. so glad shes the way she is. I always found her attractive, but also found her personality even more attractive, something i feel i got right, as she, from what ive gathered from watching the occasional interview, is exactly how i felt, maybe hoped, she would be. ballsy, independent, driven and smart. hahahaha, i remeber being a tad sad when i found out that she lived in the states, i live in Wales, UK and that i wouldnt get to ask her out! LOL regardless of the fact she was i guess in her early 20's, i was about 13/14 and in school, and am male. hahahaha, i sometimes miss the pure positivity and how blissfully unaware i had and was when in my teens.

I've never really heard of Linda Perry before, but I'm already a huge fan just for the fact that she dislikes American Idol and the "business" that is reality music. She's correct in saying that it's all a huge machine, and every year these kids, who probably also need therapy from being REJECTED, gets churned out through this "beast". Instead of nurturing the artists on how to write their own songs, and to have a their own personal voice, they will all just end up being the next Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber. It's really sad...

it's too bad, she fired her band.. pearl jam's playing somewhere, today... in 2023. remember young musicians... that's what happens when you fire your band. learn from her mistake. be humble, in the face of music. don't overestimate yourself. she never made more great music, without her band. pearl jam, the band, has a long list of hits they can play... today. linda perry has one hit she could play, with her band... 30 years ago. a band is greater than the sum of it's parts. eddie vedder never fired his band... he knew he needed them... he realized the band was a bigger force than he was, by himself. be humble. don't be a music producer... be a music MAKER. be a real, artist... not one that could've been, or should've been. be an artist, that... is.
