Linda Perry - The Garden

Linda Perry (Springfield, Massachusetts, 15 de Abril de 1965), é uma cantora norte-americana, filha de pai português (Alfred Xavier Perry) e mãe brasileira (Marluce Perry).
Foi vocalista da extinta banda americana de rock alternativo 4 Non Blondes, conhecida principalmente pela música What's Up?, um grande sucesso da década de 1990, do único disco da banda, Bigger, Better, Faster, More!, de 1992.
Após o final da banda, Linda Perry seguiu carreira solo (lançou, em 1996, seu primeiro disco solo, "In Flight", e em 1999, "After Hours") tornou-se, também, produtora, trabalhando com artistas de altíssimo sucesso como Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, Pink, Courtney Love, James Blunt, Giusy Ferreri, Vanessa Carlton e Adam Lambert. Ela é assumidamente lésbica.
Em 2010 Linda forma uma nova banda, os Deep Dark Robot. A banda lança o primeiro álbum em 2011, com o nome 8 Songs About a Girl.
Linda Perry (born April 15, 1965) is an American rock musician, songwriter, and record producer. Once best known as the lead singer and primary songwriter of 4 Non Blondes, Perry has founded two record labels and has become a major songwriter and producer. She has written and produced hit songs for several successful female singers, including Christina Aguilera (who had a #1 hit with Perry's "Beautiful"), Pink (who had a #1 hit with Perry's "Get the Party Started", and Gwen Stefani ("What You Waiting For?" from her album Love. Angel. Music. Baby.)). Perry has also contributed heavily to albums by Courtney Love and Kelly Osbourne as well as signing and distributing James Blunt in the United States.
Linda Perry is the daughter of Portuguese-American Alfred Xavier Perry and Brazilian-born Marluce Perry. Her mother has worked as a model, designer, and private detective. Her father, Alfred Xavier (1928--2005), worked as both an engineer and a musician. Linda is one of seven siblings; she has five brothers (Jay, Solomon, Mark, Marcel, and John) and one sister (Sally).
Linda spent her youth struggling with kidney disease and then addiction, before focusing on music. Growing up in an artistic and musical household, the young Perry displayed musical talent and interest from an early age. Her first song was "Pity Girls," at the age of 15 (according to an interview from ASCAP in the middle of 2003).

This is one of the best female voices I've ever heard. There are labels and studios out there who lost out on signing her, in my opinion, their loss. She's her own producer and song writer and has her own labels. God bless you Linda Perry. More power to you!

@@tt-du6vcit was independently released in 1999 on her own (defunct) label, Rockstar Records. I think that it will be reissued someday, hopefully at some point in the near future since she is about to debut a documentary on her creative process. We’ll see!
