Singer Linda Ronstadt has always done the unexpected. And now, the woman who admits that she can't cook has put out a memoir that is focused, in part, on traditional Sonoran recipes from her childhood. She talks with correspondent Tracy Smith about her book, "Feels Like Home: A Song for the Sonoran Borderlands."

Let's all face it: Aging sucks! I have lost 99% of my closest relatives--including my mom over the past 18-years. It's really gotten lonely without them. The holidays are not the same anymore; however, I am still here trying to make the best of a dystopian future in America that none of us saw coming a decade ago. God bless you, Linda. I've always loved your music even as a child of the late 60s-1970s.

If I had to guess, I’d say she could still probably sing at a very high level by our standards even now. It seems she is just such a perfectionist that unless she can do it at what she believes to be a perfect level, she’d just rather not do it at all. I understand that, but I think we’d all love to hear her voice again, no matter what state it’s in.

Like Barbra Streisand and Whitney Houston, Linda Ronstadt was blessed with an amazing set of pipes!!! So very thankful that they all blessed us with their incredible, God-given talent. They are to contemporary music what Beethoven and Mozart were to their time. They all had pure, natural talent without their voices being manipulated by the technology being used currently in today's music industry. I just adore her. Her music and her talent are timeless. It appears that her condition has also affected her ability to use her eyes and face to express her thoughts and feelings. It's heartbreaking to watch her. 😢😢😢😢😢😢 Even so, I am grateful for her very existence, her wonderful (and undimmed) sense of humor, and the profound musical gift she has shared with the world.

Linda was at the Troubadour in August 25th 1970 when Elton, Dee and Nigel debuted. and SHE is the one who said "It went so well that it felt like everyone LEVITATED off the floor" and thats why that scene was the way it was

A pinup with killer pipes. Great bands, great tunes - always much more than her considerable hits. Linda, in any language on any musical road, is always worth the journey. Rarest of songbirds.

Linda's voice was magical and beautiful. We are all saddened that she is unable to singe or hear the musical notes. Her lovely voice will live on forwver. God's blessings.

I've been in love with Linda Ronstadt since I was 13 years old when "Different Drum" was released. I'm now 66 and that love has grown into admiration and respect. Of course I have all of her albums and have seen her many times in concert. As she says herself, no one knows the future, so why worry about it. Worry about the cat who peed on the rug!! LoL Amazing Woman, Amazing Life. Thank you again for sharing it with us common mortals!!

God, I love her! I'm so going to miss her when she's gone. She's always been my #1 favorite female vocalist...always!! (Dolly & Whitney are very close 2nds). I've always loved her music since I was a little boy and heard Blue Bayou playing on the radio in the car in Scottsdale/Phoenix where I grew up. I would yell at my mom to not change the channel and turn up the volume every time Linda came on the radio. I was fortunate enough to see Linda perform a few times.

Love that Linda keeps it real. I’m sure it’s not intentional but the interviewer keeps disagreeing with Linda. The interviewer tries to minimize or sugar-coat or put a “positive” spin on things! Just let Linda be real-as she wants to be.

Thanks for a good interview. I've always appreciated her music. I think she still has a voice. It just is coming out in different ways now. I always thought her work in Canciones de mi Padre was some of her finest. She brought some of the best of Mexican culture to the mainstream in America. Those songs were and still are beautiful. Wish her smooth sailing ~ ☆

Someday, hopefully not too far away, we will have treatments, cures, and even preventative ways to end such horrible invasive diseases (brain and otherwise). My heart hurts to see it's taken away so much from her, and in turn us, who love her vocal talents and heartfelt ways. God bless her, I wish we had better ways to circumvent her losses. Thank you for such a good interview, I loved seeing her sing with her relatives!

One of the greatest voices in American modern music, her work with Nelson Riddle is sublime, & then the albums of Mariachi music to honor her father's heritage...I am sad that her voice is gone, but her work remains vibrant & will never age.
