Car trouble = nice Mexican man or a family stopping to help. VIVA MEXICO!

Forget American idol, and those type shows. Linda Rondstadt is what REAL talent looks like. Never be another like her, ever! What a God given voice she had! She could sing rock, pop, opera, Hispanic, ANYTHING. The power and range in her voice was unreal. I read her book, fantastic. Gorgeous photography, beautifully written! Get a copy! Love Linda!

That's why, when people fuss and fawn over "one note/one melody/one more profanity-filled tune" Taylor Swift, I have to laugh. Linda Ronstadt was a TRUE talent; a voice that could soar to the heavens or serenade with a lush Gershwin tune. To have come of age to her music in the late 60's, early 70's, and experienced all her musical interations throughout the years, this interview truly brought me to tears. She was, and will always be, one of American popular music's untouchable treasures.
@patricialavallee82862 жыл бұрын
@@birdsfan57 absolutely, unequivocally agree! What passes today for talent, for the most part is pure garbage. Taylor swift, is more than likely autotuned to the moon and back. I heard her sing years ago with Stevie Nick's, she almost made Stevie sound off key..I believe it was , Rhiannon. I felt for Stevie. What a crash and burn. Cringe worthy🤢 Want to hear REAL singers? With God given talent? Not only Linda, but Ann Wilson, Karen carpenter, Barbara Striesand, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Judy Garland, Cyndi Lauper. Just some off the top of my head I haven't heard ANY such talent like those women in YEARS. American idol, even the winners, are at best wedding singers, karaoke singers. Pale in comparison to the true greats.
@birdsfan572 жыл бұрын
@@patricialavallee8286 I remember that disasterous performance when Ms. Swift completely ruined the song with Stevie Nicks. True God-given talent, such as that possessed by those you mentioned, will likely never be seen again. I would add the late Eydie Gorme, Connie Francis, Dionne Warwick, Petula Clark, Della Reese, Vicki Carr, and Marilyn McCoo to that list. All amazingly talented with never a need for gimmicks or autotune.
@patricialavallee82862 жыл бұрын
@@birdsfan57 yes, that performance with Stevie Nick's. I kind of got the vibe that Stevie was trying hard to gauge how to sing ,"around," for lack of a better word, Taylor Swift. She actually did, a if I remember correctly,, make Stevie sound off key. The whole duet was beyond awful. The talents you mentioned, as well as the ones I did, will never be duplicated. I don't know why there is a complete lack of that TRUE gifted talent today, but there is. Carrie Underwood, for instance. She's a very good singer, American idol winner, who they seem to be pushing to be a rock star. However, in NO can she hold a candle to the old school group of female singers Rock star? Ann Wilson burned that bridge. She shouldn't even try...

Linda Ronstadt has been my one "special star" my entire life. While her musical abilities are extraordinary, it was Linda Ronstadt the 'person' that drew me to her. Kind, generous, talented yet vulnerable from the start. When you dig into her biography you will discover what made her who she became. A pioneering family tree of music, invention, work ethic and love. Her mom was a jewel, a sweetheart whose dad was one of the most gifted American inventors in history. Her dad, a talented singer himself gave up a career in popular music to instead dedicate his life to raising his young family. True pioneers of the great American Southwest that has added untold riches to our amazingly diverse nation. Thoughts and prayers are well deserved towards this woman who gave us so much. Thank you Linda.

My mom was just diagnosed with PSP, it’s been really hard to accept. It’s very rare so they don’t know a lot about it. It starts with a lot of falls and loss of control of motor function, my mom’s ability to speak is really affected, it’s hard to understand her. We know we don’t have all that long left with her and are trying to grieve but also make her last years as happy as possible. She’s only 60. I love Linda ronstadt, she had such a beautiful voice. I listen to her music all the time. It’s strange because my dad was a bit of a fan but I found her music on my own and began listening to it. She must be listening to the most beautiful music in her head. I’m glad she’s talking about the disorder because it is so rare most people don’t know it exists. My brother has joined a support group that helps people who have a family member with PSP and a lot of them are donating their brains to science so that someday we’ll be able to understand more about it and hopefully the people who have it won’t have to suffer as much.

Came home to this interview after having dinner with an old college chum. Talked about one of my life's regrets...not going to see Linda in '76 when she performed at Alumni Hall at our college, St. John's University in Jamaica Queens. My friend said she was great and remembered her singing "Heat Wave." When was she not great?Listened to her "Back in the USA" album on the way home. This wonderful interview capped off my evening. So grateful to her for taking us along on her musical odyssey. Not only has her vast catalog of music enthralled us, but as primarily a cover artist, she has led me to know and explore so many other singers from the distant past. We, her fans, are indebted to her for continuing to share herself and her life's story with us. Her voice remains music to our ears.

My fathers most favorite female artist ‼️ What a TALENT 🎶❤️🎼 Thank you Linda for nailing ALL those musical genres especially “mariachi”, you outsold all the Mexican singers of Mexico with Canciones de mi padre 🎉🎼 You are an amazing Talent and God bless you 🙏🙏

What an amazing interview. Linda is doing great, with all things considered. Maria looks amazing. It was heartwarming to see an update on both of you.

I grew up listening to Linda. Even when my mom was pregnant with me see was listening to her mariachi album, so that was the first thing I heard.

I still have the first few CDs my dad bought me. I’ve always loved music and my dad encouraged it by getting me CDs and I got Canciones de Mi Padre and Más Canciones when I was probably 5. I played them hundreds of times not knowing she wasn’t proficient in Spanish but by god she sings in so beautifully like a native speaker. I will treasure those albums forever as I feel they connect me to my dad’s love of music and Linda’s story as a fellow child of immigrants.

She is still beautiful and it seems still a little mischievous. Thanks for doing this interview so we don’t forget about her. What a voice she had.
