Yes Linda did that song with every note perfect. That same concert was done Live on TV from Hollywood and every song she did was just as awesome. The year was 1980 and Miss Linda Ronstadt was absolutely at her prime singing her music with such feeling. However if you enjoyed Blue Bayou then please check out "Just one look" and "Your no good" from the same Live Hollywood Concert and I promise you'll fall in love with Linda Ronstadt's voice over and over again. We love you Linda Ronstadt and we are so thankful that God blessed you with that beautiful voice for everyone to enjoy....

As good as Karen Carpenter was, her voice was never as huge as Linda's. I also think Linda "played" her voice , whereas Carpenter pretty much sang every song the same way. I don't think she ever really pushed her voice to the max , she played it safe. Linda never hesitated to just "let it rip".

Angela, so happy I came across you. You are Wonderful. . .with a capital W. The enjoyment you get from the music is written all over your face and you express it so well in words as well. I've alway loved Linda Ronstadt and I think my favorite song of hers is Desperado. You might want to give that a listen some time. If you don't mind, I'd like to recommend you listen to Courtney Hadwin, a young lady (I believe she's 17 now) who will, without doubt, be one of the biggest stars in the world. Whenn she was on America's Got Talent, when she was 13, she got a golden buzzer and ultimately was a finalist. She was later signed by Simon Cowell. I'm only mentioning all of this because you are reacting to well known artists, many from back in the day. Check out her KZbin channel and take your pick - though I would recommend Hard to Handle is the song that made her an obvious choice for future greatnes. Whether you do or dont' listen to Courtney, I really love your reactions and will look for more. Trust me on this, your jaw will drop. Peace.

I was lucky to have my earliest memories at a summer beach cottage, so the nostalgia for that place is the perfect reference - the salty/musty smell, gentle waves and the carefree feeling are so well mirrored in this, and make me feel the same longing for a paradise lost.

A testament to Linda's talent is that almost ALL of her many Billboard hits (“Blue Bayou”, “Heat Wave”, “Hurt So Bad”, “I Can’t Let Go”, “It's So Easy”, “Just One Look”, “Ooh Baby Baby”, “Poor Poor Pitiful Me”, “That'll Be The Day”, “Tracks Of My Tears”, “Tumbling Dice”, “When Will I Be Loved” and “You're No Good”) were cover tunes -- and she made them ALL her own! Very rare for a recording to be a renowned superstar almost exclusively via cover tunes with very little original material.

This is from her 1980 concert in Hollywood. This concert was shown on a program called "HBO Standing Room Only" back in 1980, and the whole 80 minutes is one fantastic hit after another. I was lucky enough to contact someone that had a great copy of the whole concert, and also a copy of the "simulcast" audio in stereo. Back in the day when TV's were not that good, the only sound you could get was from a 4 inch speaker. So some FM radio stations would broadcast the audio in stereo in sync with the TV broadcast, and you could hear the audio through your stereo. The things we had to do back then. The CD copy I got has that amazing sound. I thank you so much for doing this video.

Linda Ronstadt has been successful in every genre she has tried ..... everything from folk, rock, opera, Gilbert & Sullivan (Pirates of Penzance is a much watch), latin, country .... she is a vocal treasure. Most of her albums are certified gold, platinum, or multi-platinum. She received a 11 Grammys, 3 American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy Award, and an ALMA Award, nominated for a Tony among many other awards, and was recently a Kennedy Center recipient for lifetime achievement. “Though she’s largely recognized as a pioneering female rock ’n’ roll star - she was often referred to as the highest-paid woman in rock” according to a recent article on her life. Unfortunately, she has retired due to PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy). In other words, you could choose just about any genre and find a Linda Ronstadt song that you will enjoy. one of my favorites is perhaps Blue Bayou.
