Linda has performed in every musical category, including opera. She did fantastic recordings of Big Band standards from the 1930s and 40s with legendary arranger Nelson Riddle. She has several great albums of traditional Mexican music. She's recorded fantastic country/bluegrass records with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris. And then there's all her rock and roll stuff that she did in the 70s and 80s. Linda is a great talent and a very nice woman as well.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to hurt your feelings but, Miss Linda actually has progressive supranucular palsy. My mother was first missed diagnosed as Parkinson disease. PSP is very rare. Typically only a million people world wide have it. There's no known cause or cure. The reason she can't sing is that eventually your muscles restrict to the point you can't breathe. God bless Linda.
@gk58913 ай бұрын
Since PSP is Parkinson's Spectrum (A grouping of diseases originating when we were unable to discerne in patients) and she was misdiagnosed it's not particularly an uncommon misconception.
@paulchilds91283 ай бұрын
People who have PSP don't have hand tremors like Parkinson, should have been an indication for a different diagnosis as my sister in law pointed out.

Had the privilege and good fortune to actually meet Linda Ronstadt back in 1980 when she was on a political campaign with her boyfriend at the time, California Governor Jerry Brown. She was even nicer and more approachable than her reputation, which is amazing. She had just cut her hair shorter for her "Mad Love' album, but she was still very beautiful. I can pick out Guitarists Waddy Wachtel and Andrew Gold in her band, but no one else.

Nice review, and now I know who _your_ beauty reminds me of! On Linda's second song, she was starting to hit some notes a bit flat. I think she was having trouble hearing herself because she started putting her finger in her ear - a common method of hearing the voice in your head a bit better. There was some high note singing left at the end of the song that she skipped. Perhaps not confident in the result. Possibly failed stage monitor.

Nice reaction to Linda Maria Ronstadt. The song "Heat Wave" is a cover, from the 60s, by the group Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, who first recorded that song in 1963. Feel free to react to their original song as well. Many hits were made during the 60s, with the so-called Motown sound. Many different girl groups accounted for most of the hit songs from that time. Linda did several covers of other songs from the 60s, such as "Blue Bayou" which was a Roy Orbison hit. She also did "It's So Easy", which is a cover of a Buddy Hollie song. There are several other songs as well. Great job, keep it up. 😉❤

Now you need to dive into others on the LA rock scene at the time. Jackson Browne: one of the finest, subtlest folk-rock writers, an icon. Warren Zevon: thundering machismo with a bizarre sense of humor. (Try “Lawyers, Guns and Money.”) These two were associates of Linda and they formed a triumvirate!

I can imagine Linda Ronstadt singing any Karen Carpenter song and knocking it out of the park. But can you imagine Karen trying to sing Heatwave or You're No Good? The most she rocked out was Please, Mr. Postman and that was awful. Karen was good but never went outside her comfort zone. Linda always pushed and challenged herself to explore other genres of music she loved.
