Bacon Green Pea Summer Salad Ingredients For the dressing: Instructions To prepare the dressing: whisk together all ingredients in a large serving bowl until smooth and combined. 12 strips thick cut bacon cooked and chopped finely 4 cups frozen sweet peas thawed 1/2 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese 1/2 medium red onion diced finely 1/2 cup sour cream 1/3 cup real mayonnaise 1 tbsp. granulated sugar 2 tsp. white vinegar salt and pepper to taste Add chopped bacon, peas, cheddar cheese, and diced onions and stir to combine. Enjoy this summer salad !

This reminds me of "Seven layer salad." That's one of my favorite things! How do people find frozen peas as "yuck?" They are closest to fresh! I have often used half sour cream and half mayo and always sugar! I really enjoy your cooking videos Linda! Jerry's expressions are hilarious!

Looks great! I make 7 layer salad and you are right, this is very similar. I’m glad you use that special knife for the lettuce. If you cut lettuce with a regular knife, it will turn brown quickly.

That pea salad does look yummy and I will make it soon. But the best parts of the video are definitely Linda and Jerry's personalities, warmth, and kindness to each other. Great recipe! If they have it in your area try DUKES Mayo. Used to do Helmans brand and like you say pricing. You can get DUKES at walmarts.

I make a seven layer salad that is very similar. But, I don't use bacon (sorry Jerry) and I use green onions instead of white. And I just put the peas on top frozen then the dressing like you make it with a bit of sugar. And the grated cheese and green onions on top. Store in fridge overnight. Delicious.

Couldn't wait to make this yummy looking salad and I finally made it today and I love it! I eat simple so I only did the lettuce peas celery and mayo and I am in love with it! It's really delicious and will be one of my new staples I also added a drop of mustard. Frozen peas is the way to go!!! Thank you I will think of you guys every time I make it. Linda, I have watched this video a couple of times, as I do with all your videos. I don't have a plastic or ceramic coated knife yet. To dry the lettuce have you used a salad spinner? They work great, I use mine a lot for my mushrooms and other vegatables. By the way was Jerry using some power tools in the garage at the 4:46 - 5:00 mark? I seem to hear a saw.

Hi Linda! SO GLAD YOU'RE COOKING TODAY. I can't figure out why Peas aren't everyone's favorite. My freezer is packed with the last two BOGO sales from PUBLIX. I use them on a regular basis. Stir fried rice, stove top chicken, in Mac n' cheese, fried eggs and onions, chicken pot pies, and casseroles, to name a few dishes. Gotta watch now........ TFS!!!!!!!!!!
