I love the Unity gain feature! This should be normalized at this point of plugin development. I can focus on the sound without having to go back and compensate the output knob after every EQ/Comp move. I'm so excited for this Helios channel strip.

Very odd choice of music to lead with given the history and pedigree of this console - and the fact that you mention Bowie, Hendrix and Sabbath in the video description. I really hope you good folks have a live band/rock track demo in the works, as well?

I completely agree with you and left a similar comment (although yours was said more tastefully haha). I genuinely can't believe they use such awful music for these product demos. The music is bad even for pop/electronic.

my first impression as well. totally agree, even Waves asked a certain Mr. Kramer to help them do the plugin for all that historic that reason. I don't have problem with any type of music, but the one on this demo is just plain bad, not the genre, the music itself, even like that isn't enough, I think even a 16YO Taylor Swift will be embarrassed to write lyrics like that. Well, it's personal choice whatever, but having it near a historic piece remake like this, is really questionable. We don't want to anger the Rock Gods.

I love PA and Lindell, and I'm very interested in this console, but same for me--this is giving me zero bearing on how it would fare on tracks relevant to the genre and time period that the Helios is famous for. I'm certain I will get it at some point, but this is making it easy for me to wait awhile. Which is easier to do now, seeing all the PA channel strips currently on sale at $29...which I paid a lot more for when they came out.😑

Most companies seem to be using this electronic stuff, for some reason... no EDM artist would use these tools, nor can you really hear the difference on sampled instruments... agreed!

I literally bought this as soon as I saw my price being less than 60 bucks. and I have to say you guys did a great job. It's very close to my UAD helios eq and better then the waves one I used for native stuff. but the choice in music for this video is honestly not doing this plugin justice at all. it's a fantastic plugin. And was used in recorded music not really on electric style music.

While I’m encouraged to see a Helios emulation from Lindell, the use of these ridiculous little toy sounds does nothing to reveal whether or not a passable emulation has really been achieved. Are the people making this kind of music REALLY the ones buying vintage emulations of this type??

I can understand it's a demo but it would be nice if the plugin was actually used the way we use it in real mixes. For example, when showing the compressor, he only applied about 2dB of gain reduction. I've never in my life only applied 2dB of GR to a vocal before hahaha!! How are we supposed to hear what it sounds like that way? I'm just saying better examples would be nice. All the examples were a bit "dull" in my opinion. I feel like some developers just keep getting further and further out of touch. MAKE TOOLS THAT ARE ACTUALLY USEFUL! We don't need another channel strip!

I agree it's a bit of a wasted demo. Mixing with Mike does a much better job, though some of the features confused even him, lol. He also couldn't find the 'Passive EQ' and was confused by the website blurb.

I swear all of these companies hire the same terrible marketing agency to promote their plugs. How about comparing your plugin to the real thing so we can hear how close it is to the original you modeled, or at least run a classic rock style track through it instead of an over-processed sample fest that nobody who is actually interested in this plug would produce? Of course you can say just try it out for yourself, but no company in their right mind would put out commercials of their products performing or looking like poop, regardless of a free sample. I've heard nothing in this demo that would tempt me in the slightest to even try it out for free.

Don't you also LOVE how the dude is like barely using the plugin as well? 2dB of compression on the vocal! 🤣 I'll never understand it. Some of these companies are so out of touch. It's like they don't even know a thing about mixing. Some don't level match, some over-hype and make the plugins out to be more than they are, and some just flat-out lie! This whole demo was a joke.

Why didn't you model the 60hz bass hump when you switch to that frequency? Apparently that was a characteristic of the EQ
