Nice demo. Seems like the best lower priced 2A clone available. I have their 1176 clone and am very happy with it. The TRS sockets are no problem for me as it works well with my patchbay.

I got the lin76, it muffles the top end way too much for my liking. No bad but, if it let the top end more intact it would be much better.

For voice; only in Limit do I feel that great level dependency I’m so fond of on the 2A. Excellent vocal response in Limit. For that way overly busy bass; leveling is working but so many notes no compressor can fix.

I just hooked mine up, and I realized it does not have a bypass, and it doesn't pass the signal when it's turned off. I like to be able to take it out with the flick of a switch.

@@TheAudioCzar I have that GA compressor too, which is why I'm used to it. Just had a bad experience with GA which drove me to the Lin2a. After 7 years the GA Comp2a crapped out, so I paid 120 dollars to ship it to them across the country. They said they fixed it and sent it back. But nothing changed. It still won't even power on. I told them it was still not repaired and requested maybe a shipping label to send it back to them. They totally ghosted me! 3 emails in 3 weeks and nothing. Even if they aren't going to pay the shipping because it was their mistake, they could at least deal with me and respond. Anyway, I've been playing with the Lin2A sunce I wrote the first message, and it works like a charm. Very happy. I got it used for 520.00.

I have the 76 as well, been holding off on a review because my unit might have some voltage issues. Trying to get it sorted out

Mine had to be set alone, on it's own, with a power source by itself. I find the sound leave too much to be desired, too dark, it would be nice to be able to control the distortion on the unit too.
@geotungz4050 Жыл бұрын
it seemed to not take in any audio, then the meter would bobble, by itself though that ceased.

I am considering a la-2a style compressor and have a questions about this one and others of its design: I dont think there is a bypass switch (unless im missing it), so if you were to set up something like a vocal recording chain (preamp > eq > la-2a > audio device) would you be able to turn off or bypass the la-2a if you didnt want the compression? Would it kill the signal if the la-2a were turned off, or would the signal still pass through? thanks!

I'm wondering whether I should get the Lin2a or rather the Opto Comp from Audioscape. Since I live in Germany, the Audioscape would be about 300-400€ more expensive for me. The only really negative thing I could say about the Lindell unit would be the TRS jacks and the adjustment knob for the metering on the back. Apart from that, the unit seems to really have an excellent sound. What do you think, have you ever tested the Audioscape device?
@TheAudioCzar Жыл бұрын
I've only messed with the audio scape at NAMM. Which of course isn't a real world experience. I don't know what that 300-400 translates into in USD but sounds like a lot. Definitely would want to overpay.

Thanks for this review. Im currently using a modded Klark Teknik KT-2a (Kenetek T4b optocell and Harma Retro Tubes) which is surprisingly good. What are your thoughts on the Lindell 2a vs the BLA Seventeen for tracking vocals? It would also be interesting to hear how the Lindell compares to my modded KT-2a?

@ChristopherczarSmith Жыл бұрын
@@harpoleon6806 I like the BLA 17 better, it's less colored then the lindell but more versatile with the mix knob and filters. I do feel the 17 has a low output, but I can always turn things up more in the daw. The seventeen you can drive pretty hard before it breaks up.

This is the 2nd review that says this sounds better than my Wa2a, I am thinking about trading the warm in for the Lin 2A and maybe sometime in the future getting a 2nd unit for stereo sources and buss processing. And does this thing have a side parallel option?
