This is a tip that we’ve learned when selling larger items like furniture and mattresses on Facebook Market … Our preference is for the buyer to pick up the items, but in some cases he/she cannot and they ask if we can deliver. We tell them we can and they ask what the fee is. Our response is “Whatever you think is fair”. Every single time the seller has paid an amount greater than what we would have asked. So this has been a way for us to add value to our sale while providing a service to the seller and saving them money and time. Win/Win!
@abdicolestudios88994 жыл бұрын
This is a good tip because we were trying to decide on a delivery fee (I was the customer) and the merchant ended up saying he thinks $25 fee is fair, while I was about to offer $40-50

True same deal ! 9/10 times it's worth delivering and making it happen asap before they find a different avenue.

I sold extremely well made furniture with dark black and blue marble with gold painted trim for about 20 bucks each🤣 I had a goal to clear out an old garage quickly since I would be moving and all my furniture and mattress and couch sets sold within 1 week and all came to the garage to pick up their own items just because it felt safer to me instead of going out to them. Just putting this here in case anyone thinks they can’t get rid of their things quick enough. All depends on if you need/want the money more than just getting rid of your old things. Just make sure to Mark your item as sold so you disappoint a bunch of people lol

I'm really surprised about all the thing you didn't mention. I guess I was expecting something beyond beginner level. One thing I think is a good tip is as far as the messages they are also listed under your archived or active sales on the FB app. So if you go to the listing and scroll to the bottom you can see all of the messages for just that one listing instead of am having them all mixed in with all your other marketplace messages. Also a big rule I now have to go by is "no holds" that until someone tells me they are literally in their car on their way to me, it's available. So if you tell me you'll be here in about an hour but you haven't left yet and someone messages me and says they can be in here in ten minutes then the hour person misses out. Now if someone tells me they're driving an hour and leaving now and they'll be here in an hour and then a few minutes later someone messages and says they live right down the road and can be here in five minutes then no... I wait for the hour person. So communication is really important without sounding pushy.

@argentinamamii923 жыл бұрын
I have started telling people that "communication is much appreciated." If someone messages me the generic "is this still available?" I reply yes it is and then give a wait time of about half an hour before I move on (especially because I tend to respond within minutes). It's always available until someone sets up a day and time when they are picking up, I will wait but if something comes up and they don't show up (without communicating to me), I'm moving onto the next person. Sometimes people are really inconsiderate. I heard someone say it right one time when they said "it's almost like you have to babysit the buyers."

I’m trying to get into reselling and you do wonders for my fears. I don’t have disposable income, so losing any will be a hardship. I watch you and love how informative you are. I deliver seasonal for ups, and I was thinking that I could do next day delivery. Another thing, boxes are torn badly during shipping. Amazon is worst about it. You pack your boxes to make sure the space is taken in the boxes. That’s important. Loose boxes tear during shipping. I said thank you when I watched your shipping video. Keep up the good work. Love your content.

I’ve sold tons of stuff on FB Market just spring cleaning from my own home (before getting into Fulltime reselling). Drop shipping (wholesaling or retail arbitrage) on FB Marketplace is like the old wild west days of Ebay. If you have the shipping option, they will promote your listing nationwide and provide a checkout for customers so that they can just order instantly. There are so many ways to monetize this, if you are not doing 10K/mo. in sales on FBMP (without touching one product) then you are missing out! If you start to get a lot of traffic on an item, FB's AI promotes it automatically to similar audiences and they can go viral within hours with ZERO marketing costs! Glad you figured this out Lindey, you can crush it on here if you know what you're doing. I love your videos girl and I appreciate you sharing great tips all the time, keep it up! Happy flipping.

Facebook does not want ebay businesses on Marketplace, and if they find out what you are doing they may suspend you from accessing it. it's a bad idea to do it on a continuous basis. Best practice to use it sporadically for locals only, to offload unsold merch from your other venues.

Hi, i been selling on Facebook for awhile since they updated the Facebook Market and let me tell you its been the best thing right. I was doing Amazon and ebay and decided not to sell there no more. Im getting more sells then Amazon and eBay, especially selling to local people cause people want things now instead of ordering online. I recently bought 5 Ring Light to sell on Facebook Market just to sell if anyone buys it locally and within 3 days the Ring Lights were all sold. The Ring Lights are in demand right especially for females doing nails, eyebrows, make-up, videos, etc. So now I decided to buy a big quantity and im sure im gonna get a lot of sells because im the only selling them iny area. Better than waiting on Amazon, ebay, etc for a sale. Your video was helping and thank you for sharing and giving tips.

I could have been making $.. the only thing i would like to know is when buying on market place, how to set the distance or location. there are 2 options under location 1. suggested radius and 2. custom radius. once you have sold an item, how do you mark it as sold or remove from market place if you don't want to sell it any more. once you sell an item, can you delete all the messages from the people who showed interest? if you are selling multiple items, are the messages all mixed in together or separated by each item you are selling thank you so much in advance for your feed back

I'm learning about Marketplace and you mentioned FB pay. Now if you don't feel comfortable letting FB have access to your debit card, are there another options to collect payments. Realizing there may be a fee, however, what's worse, paying a fee and feeling bank account is secure or cheaping out and getting scammed at the end of it all?

Myself i've been selling quite a bit on Marketplace .... but business slowed down so I started selling on Ebay as well (which I had been selling on there many years ago). My goal is to build my sales up to a point where I don't need any other income in the future. Sounds like all the features that you mentioned might not have been been implemented here in Canada yet unless it's only on a smart phone .... I just sell my stuff on my computer. Right now my main stuff i'm selling is videogames and board games, I might add other things to that in the future though, I've been slowly building up a clientele on there too ... but some of them over time have stopped buying stuff because they ran out of funds. It was interesting hearing some of the ways you do business on Marketplace too.

I too like selling items on Facebook Marketplace; however, they need to work on their "bots" that kick out words for listings. Have an animal print shirt? Not allowed. Have an Asiatic wedding basket? Not allowed. Beer mug? Not allowed. Plus, to ship on FBM, one has to wait up to 20 days to get paid. No thanks. They better work on that one too. Otherwise, like you, I do enjoy the no fee platform. Let's hope that when FBM becomes a full blown e-commerce platform (and, I believe they will), that they get the bot bugs worked out. I've always enjoyed your videos Lindey, sorry I don't comment much, I tend to watch you on ROKU and I'm not signed in. Keep up the great work ~ and energy!

FB marketplace should be absolutely booming with sales in Canada. Due to eBay fees and astronomical shipping costs in Canada, EBay is basically dead here. There is virtually no private sellers shipping items to other private buyers here except very few on ebay and most all of them are companies.

It says that you can hide from your profile. I just listed today first time and there is the option for not showing on your feed. It works!

Also not everyone on your Facebook is actually a friend. They're coworkers, acquaintances, friends of friends, etc. My close friends know that I resell but I just don't like everyone knowing my business. I also sometimes sell things for family members and they can be random or weird items haha. I just tend to be more private

I made a listing yesterday and it sold in like 4 minutes. I was like wow that was fast.

Very well explained, you did an awesome job! I'm just now getting started with selling on Facebook Marketplace and I'm confused about if I can advertise more than one item in a single listing? For example I made homemade soaps. Do I have to list everyone individually? Sorry for the long message and thanks for your time. Good Bless!
