I watch constantly but comment rarely :) - First off, I've watched you for years. One of the first tips (and BEST tip) I learned from you, was how to fold and ship jeans...it may seem like a small thing, but hat was HUGE for me! So thank you, thank you! Also I wanted to add that, you are almost the ONLY person I watch that doesn't have a big, huge intro (animation, music, etc) before you get started on your video. I LOVE THIS!! As you know, time is precious when it comes to reselling. For your videos, I can launch the video and I know you will hit the ground running.

So many good points here. 9 times out of 10 a countertop looks way better than a light box. I need a new phone xD my old Samsung s6 is starting to show its age, still does the job though. Description reminds me of our old GeoCities accounts.. how we loaded those websites with flashy things we found all over the internet "because everyone else had them" Pages within pages.. and it only worked with my screen resolution, and looked way off for anyone else.. Got a lowball offer the other day.. countered with a decent one.. they declined.. a few hours later the item sold twice for full price. If I started over I wouldn't touch returned items pallets/boxes--the only person making money in that business is the liquidator!!! Thanks Lindey!!!

Thank you sooo much for this video! JUST WHAT I NEEDED TO LEARN! I just happened upon you as I am in the learning phase. People like you need to be commended BIG TIME for saving us newbies so much money, frustration, confusion...etc.! I appreciate you for doing this for me & others! Your time is valuable and spread thin yet you gave from your heart...You are a special person as I can attest that not many other sellers would have done this....I know, as I have been trying to learn for a LONG time. Too long...as I tend to overdo that with everything! I also talk too much! I subscribed to your channel and will put you at the top of my list as you just hit the target of what I should have learned in the beginning! Luckily, I already have the equipment you recommended. Thanks a million for being you & blessed to have met you!

My day job is listing refurbished computers on eBay. We do around $40,000 per month. Our photo booth is a piece of heavy white canvas that we got for free, 2 clip lights with paper taped over them as diffusers, and a broken LED TV that had the screen removed so all it does is illuminate the backlight. Every picture is either taken there or on a piece of scrap paper. She pretty much just read my job description in this video.

All excellent advice! I was at a thrift recently and found a pair of pants with the price tag of $500--it's called Lafayette New York. The store had them priced at $88--if I'd bought them I'd have just broken even. I went back on 75% off pants day--and yes, those pants were still there. I bought them and would up selling them for around $80

I just started selling a couple weeks ago and I’m so glad I found you, because nobody else gives the advice you do and just implementing a couple of your tips is making my sales go up in just a couple days. Wow. Thanks. I never realized that some people have so much emotional behaviors selling on eBay. The low ball offers reaction and the death piles. I’ve never had those reactions, but I appreciate being enlightened about that. It sure helps me understand my friend I thought was just hoarding and the furniture painters who go nuts on Facebook pages when they get low-balled. I realize it’s not just them. Lots of people who sell things. What I never understood about the furniture painters is why they’d get raging over being low-balled but would brag when they successfully low-balled someone else to get a piece of furniture to paint. And if I asked, I was screeched at in incomprehensible gibberish and then kicked out. I guess emotion has become more important than reason in many places. I’m glad you saw that it was hurting you. You’re such an excellent teacher now. One of the top 5 YouTubing resellers I’ve come across. Thanks.

Lindey, THANK YOU for mentioning the long detailed descriptions being UNNECESSARY. Several years ago it would drive me crazy seeing every seller's return policies, shipping policies, personal reselling history, multiple reminders to check out their other "auctions" at the time Ebay was mostly just auctions as they were just starting to make fixed price listings available. I didn't want to read any of that stuff and often would just skim it to see if there was anything really needed. Usually there wasn't. Most sellers would make the mistake of making their descriptions SO detailed with their policies that there was not much of an item description in their item description. Now days you are lucky if a seller puts anything there at all.
@sweettina24 жыл бұрын
Exactly! In the description it will say any issues would be listed "here", but they have everything BUT the issues listed.

Procrastination in general is a barrier to success. My main reason for selling is because it's something I physically can do since I broke my back. I've been putting off so many projects, so many things that have gotten worse and worse. My roof leaking, nature taking over my back yard, my cars all breaking down, needing firewood for the winter.. these things don't go away on their own, and they are all things I loved doing before I broke my back, but in my head I still thought I could do them but years went by and they never got done... There came a point when I decided that I had to find something I could do to make money that worked around my disabilities so I started ebaying. Having quality lots of items show up at my door is a far better option for me than going out and hunting deals (although when I find the right one I'll endure about anything to chase down a few thousand dollars) Along the way I've found some items I can buy in bulk and sell all day in smaller quantities without even getting into wholesale. I've cleaned out estate sales, tried auctions, bought pallets and along the way I found that I really do enjoy this game. Funny thing is this is pretty close to what I would do for years after my injury, playing video games where I'd dominate the auction houses buying and selling and eventually becoming one of the richest people.. Now I just need to do that in real life.

I was selling banknotes and coins on ebay back in 2002 and later, but was using a scanner to create images. Having the ebay app, and just using your cell phone to take and transfer your photos to your ebay listing makes it so much easier and faster. The info you're giving out in your videos about selling on ebay is very good. Some of the best I found. Pehaps you should write a book about becoming a successful ebay seller.

Totally agree re the poster board! I have wood patterned on from michaels and the science project white backboard (idk what tech name is)...i do have lighting kit and mannequin...i need lighting kit bc of where i work (horrible natural light) plus i do lots of pics in evening....BUT totally. Ot necessary for beginners....backdrop even with pvc stand was too much work (i have done kt all! Lol)

Not you, but alot of resellers are telling newbies to use expensive camera equipment and lighting and backdrops for pics. I just saw them doing it in there tutorials. The tutorials for new sellers. after I saw that I researched it and there are a ton of experienced resellers teaching that you need good high money items. I couldn't believe it. Now I don't know if they do it to try and get you out of the mix but thank goodness I saw your video. I really would have thought I needed all that before I sell anything. If you don't know any better you can make that mistake easy with them telling you to do it. Thanks for your videos.

Thanks as always for the great tips! I am new and I actually taped 2 pieces of typing paper together with clear box tape and then use scotch tape to tape it to my kitchen cabinet and take pictures there, lol. My worst experience when starting out was watching TV auction shows. Next thing you know I bought a huge 800 dollar shed full of 500 cases and a few other items. Turned out each case contained 10 new baby washing tubs due to start selling in Walmart. I then made contact with a company in New York that sold baby products around the world and they said they would pay for shipping if I sold them at a buck a bucket. After transporting 5000 baby buckets to my house and filling up my mothers garage, I was ready for the semi truck to arrive. And then it happened, the man in New York made contact with the original creator and found out the buckets had a defect. The deal fell threw, any websites that promoted the buckets were dumped and I spent a week taking buckets to the dump. The remaining items barely made my money back but talk about a hard lesson!

Great video!!! I am an experienced reseller and still love your videos....always learning something new. I guess the one thing I "might" disagree on a bit is the light set up. I 100% agree that natural light and a white background is all you need and you do not need to spend a ton.......if you are home during the day when natural light is the availble. I would consider myself a full-time reseller, but I am also have a Monday through Friday full-time job in the hospital. Investing in a big light box changed my life in such a positive way. Prior to, I was having to do all my photographing on the weekends and it was eating a up all my free, weekend time. Now I can take beautiful photos whenever I choose.....it's freed up my life for sure! :)

The value of something is only what people are willing to pay for it. OFFERS are the KEY to sales. We live in the West where people don't understand what the word "haggle" means because we see a price tag and that's it, you cannot argue with the price tag!! Unless you're at some scummy used car dealership then people feel confident doing that but honestly, haggling has been around since the dawn of time right back to the bartering system before money (and price tags) even existed. We, in the West, are SO offended when someone even makes an opening offer, when everywhere else in the world, offers are the bread and butter of commerce (which you obviously figured out).

Been selling for 12 years and I enjoy your videos. Your methods have made me quite efficient ! I learned the white poster board from you and take most photos outside. Inside I use 2 clamp lights and the regular room light. May try that fancy ring light thing ! On low ball offers I try to respond with a "thank you for the offer, I do appreciate it" with my counter. I buy a ton on E-bay as well - if a seller counters my usually sane purchase offer with a low-ball counter I do decline that one and move on to a different seller !

The best investment I have made in my reseller journey was the umbrella lights and the bulbs you have a link to. Since most of my products are hand dyed by me having the colors show up their been is super important. Two things I needed but have left behind is the backdrop holder and soft box. How do we price things?
