Noticed the screen on the 1300 covers the front radar. And a lot of people have objected to the radar flat lump. So looks like an option to get around that issue. As long as you don’t mind a bigger screen.

After many a GS, I’ve moved onto the 2024 S 1000 XR. A far nicer ride for me, good for a long tour and more engaging on shorter rides.

Looks like the abilities are similar just delivered in a slightly different fashion, the Triumph does carry a fair price advantage though when the extras are factored into the BMW I believe?

I bet she loves coming on the back given the vibes that T-plane gives off! 😅 It's an amazing bike though. I had the non-T-plane previous gen and that 1200 had the smoothest engine I've ever ridden. So good for long journeys. I rode the new 1200 in Spain on the Triumph Adventure course, that extra grunt is amazing, but I did miss the smoothness of the previous gen. That being said, I'd take the looks of the new gen over the previous any day, such a good looking bike with that daytime running light, and the extra grunt and handling definitely gives it an edge the previous gen was lacking. When Triumph finally adds adaptive cruise control I'll be all over it!

The GS is the best.😊

It is definitely a bit lighter than the Triumph but at 237 kg I would not go near it. At 66 I want to get around effortless and cheaply. I don't want to get over 200 kg or 28 km/l.

Bikes of the past. Nice if you can afford them and the fuel. 450 cm³ - 650 cm³ is where we are looking now. My girlfriend and I toured Europe two up with camping gear the first time in 1979 on a GT550. Did it this year an a SV650. I hope it will last 10 more years. Then I'l probably downsize to 450 cm³.

Nice video guys. 👍 Having bought a Triumph Street Triple RS from your Watford branch (thanks Tom!) and more recently, my BMW S1000XR from Lind at Welwyn, I can testify to the great service I have received from Lind over the years. So please keep the videos coming. And reserve me a huge discount when I inevitably buy a GS one day. 😂

Owned the triumph and the gs1300 is head and shoulders above the triumph in every department and in a straight line or round corners the bmw would murder the triumph . You're not going to get an unbiased opinion of either of these two for obvious reasons! Ps restricting the triumph to 125 mph was a mistake by triumph although it won't bother most !,

So you owned a 24 year 1200 Tiger, sold it and owned a BMW 1300 in the same year?
@markshirley763927 күн бұрын
@ I did and it was great for the first 2000 miles apart from the speed restriction! The 1300gs is in a different league tbh

@ not only that I've sold the 1300gs and taken delivery of a 1300 gs adventure!

Why is it no one mentions the stalling tiger at low revs? Crank made heavier on the the new 2024 models and still no one mentions it. The 1200 engine is rubbish compared the the beautiful and sporty street triple engines.

Sounds like you picked up a lemon. I‘ve had a 1200 GT Pro for 6 months now and have observed none of the niggles you refer to.

Yes, I've got a 2024 RE and never had any problems with it stalling

My ‘22 GT Pro did stall out on me a few times, but following a software update and a clutch bleed last year it’s never happened since. The engine has massive mid and top end shove, I took it to the South of France this year zero issues - significant price advantage over the GS and far more engaging on the open road in my opinion.
