I'm not less impressed with your language learning skills after seeing the number of books you haven't finished, if anything, it just shows how relatable you are! I've got Turkish and Greek books that I haven't even looked inside.

I love language books. Even if I'm not learning the language, they help keep that "spark" of the language learning passion alive in me. :) 5:08 That Thai learning book is AWESOME! It comes with a super audio CD companion too. You should have kept that one!

Being able to see that you have purchased books and have not used them all made me feel better. I come across books to learn languages, and I don't always use them. 😅 But I can't seem to get rid of them because I plan to use them in the future. Also, my collection of books isn't as extensive as yours. But either way, I get attached to my language learning books so much I haven't gotten rid of any of them.

It might be hard but you could do a subscriber giveaway or something with them. Just a thought (I'm not saying this because I want a free book, I don't study most of the languages mentioned I just think it's a neato idea). Great idea but i donated most of my books to missionaries who are going to Japan - the other books I sold here already :) I cant afford to ship books internationally to subscribers - maybe one day if KZbin pays enough!

This actually makes me laugh because I do the _exact same thing;_ just buying a lot of language books and only using a small handful while others collect dust. 😂 I’ve actually had to tell myself when ever I want to buy another book of language learning “are you ACTUALLY GOING TO USE IT?” And “you have so many books already, don’t. D o n t. DONT.” Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Q: I'm currently learning korean but I keep remembering the syllables of words in the reverse order. Repeatedly. For example, I would say or write "목과교" instead of "교과목". Even writing that out now was confusing me a little. Is this a common thing? And if so, how can I overcome this problem in the future?

xD Haha, its not disappointing its the reality. Unfortunately there have been languages that I have taken an interest to that I've bought books for but didn't work out for me because I either didn't have time to take away from my Japanese studies (my current major) or I just didn't stick through with it for very long (Chinese [I have that same book "practice makes perfect"], Korean, re-learning Bulgarian [learning grammar properly and more technical vocab]... etc...)

Oh the colors don't mean anything actually, I just mark pages with words I want to refer back to, especially if the words or sentences are ones I think would be useful in conversation.

this might sound weird but I hear a slight French accent, have you been studying it a lot more recently? It's mostly with your vowels, French tends to lean towards a more closed vowel (oo, ae, eo) than like my junk american accent (ehh ee/i ah)
