Definitely not meant to diminish Ron's contributions by any means...But I always think of Al as being the "Godfather" of an iconic family that has given so much to the fishing community of northern MN.

Great video Al. I bought a big supply of the Mooneye hair jigs last year. Great results for sure. I love the regular Mooneye jigheads. I swim them with a 3" Zoom Fat Albert grub and the results are stunning. One overlooked thing is the quality of the hooks on those jigs. They are outstanding !!

Thanks for the great information! I'm new to Walleye fishing and I love it! What weight jig head do you recommend?

It's amazing the details of baits making huge differences for walleye. One of my favorites in the one river and one creek local to me for walleye is the Rapala Shallow Rap SR7 in Bluegill, but it has to be bluegill. Ive tried the other colors even in the middle of a good bite and they will not work.

I try to use as light of a head as I can get away with, and it takes a lot of water, or current, for me to go past 1/4 ounce for walleyes. Especially early or late in the season. You get a slower rise and fall, and deer hair just keeps catching fish with a more natural action. You can make your own by using the tail of a deer and take a neon sharpie to add color to part of the hair, but I leave the belly white. The shape of the head makes a difference depending on conditions. If you go with the neon sharpie for color, put the color over a natural glow head and in low light conditions it seems to make a difference. You keep both the glow and the color.

When the water turns to Chocolate milk, it is time to Bulk up with the jig and add a big minnow to the setup!

Too bad the eyeballs never stay on the jigs. They fall off just by being in your plano box. Very poor quality control for a premium jig.
