Al is an amazing man, I find his messages at the end of each episode very inspiring.

My grandfather on my dad's side used to go up and fish at his friends cabin in Canada, so didn't really fish by the time I came around as his friend had passed away. He gave me his tackle box and I was in love with it. It was full of original and jointed Rapalas in black and silver, and loaded with packs of mister twisters. Black, yellow or white with the dots on it, sassy shads and that attachable spinners. Pretty sure each pack had four plastics, a jighead and that optional spinner. Got my first small mouth on one. it was tiny lol but still my first. Years later I did well on pike with the rapalas

When I was younger and went fishing with my grandfather that is all we threw was bucktails cuz he tied them of course since he passed and I found there was more lures than juat the bucktail but I really have to get back to it or even start tying them myself

I was watching minnows near a dock on a trip up in Canada and had never really used hair jigs and had recently bought some. The damn things produce bigtime. Once you got them wet and snapped them they fell and looked exactly like a stunned minnow . I took the remaining 5 from the pack and dumped them in a cup with a couple leaches and thats all i used rest of the trip. My fishing bud who’s been going up there for 50+ years was shocked i did so well without tipping them with a leach. Slot limit and Sportsman license only would let you have 4 19.75 max in your possession . 5 cast’s and 4 in the well im like put me on shore i need to cook us Lunch because I couldn’t fish anymore!!! Safe travels and God bless guys.

UV Lazer dub from the flyfishing world is deadly on crappie and walleye tied into a hair jig. My favorite is the UV grey

I’m not particularly a man of religion or faith. But I actually very much enjoy your ending stories-especially this one...as it truly hit close to home. You come off as thankful, caring, and truly empathetic...rather than preachy and trying to shove your beliefs down the throat of others-as I’ve seen so many times. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for always sharing your fishing knowledge.

When using suffix advance do you still use a fluoro leader? Or tie right to the jig?

What size VMC jigs do you typically use for shallow and deep water eyes? What targeting eyes in 18-25ft of water do you step up to a 1/4oz or even a 3/8oz or do you typically stick with the 1/4oz? Any particular colors you would suggest? I was impressed with the leach imitation VMC jig. Definitely will give them a try. Any luck on white or chartreuse in clear or muddy water? Great video. First time checking out your channel. I love the fishing insight and spiritual point at the end! Keep it up

Wow I wanna learn about hair jigs and you make me tear up at the end. Men open your eyes. This world needs men to lead and share stories like that. Up or down you live forever where you going. Read the gospel of John. Faith comes by the word. Reading or hearing it. Thanks you

Needs glider wings of some sort. Wings work on everything else, why not hair jigs ?

Do you ever think the Lord would put his hand on your fishing and say Al I want you to give me this? I tie my own jigs and so I like the underwater footage your team does it would be great if you could talk specifics about jig styles and how they move.
