Lindsay made a good point about Goff being in Detroit for several years to perfect his craft within their system. Are any of the sports pundits saying he is only playing well because of their roster? This is Darnold's first year under KOC, yet some pundits are so quick to demean Darnold's play by pointing to Jefferson/Addison. Darnold has played incredibly well for being in the system for only one season, and way better than Cousins in his first year under KOC. Darnold can be so much better in season two under KOC, and the team would be far better than with McCarthy replaying his rookie year.

Lindsay is an SC gal. I remember Lindsay covering USC when she was at FSN West in LA and I'm sure she followed Sam's collegiate career closely. His soph season at USC was nothing short of amazing (161.1 passer rating), and his positive attributes that we're seeing now were on full display then. Throw in the fact that Sam is an easy guy to pull for and it's no wonder Lindsay thought he could flourish with the right coach in a good/great environment.

Biggest improvement I’ve seen over the course of the season is with Darnold’s confidence. He looked rattled often in the beginning of the season but that diminished as the season progressed. He seems confident and composed the last couple of games and it is a complete 180 from his early career. Good for him and I hope he can keep that attitude with his new team next year.

Completely agree with Lindsay’s take on how Sam Darnold has seen how the other half lives (aka NYJ) and he’s NOT going to say pay me I’ll go anywhere. I think he’ll take less to win in Minnesota (or LAR, Miami, SF). Coaching and winning will matter.

I don't know why anyone would want to be a head coach!!! It's not if you're going to be fired It's when!!! Flores is a case in point, be the highest paid DC and coach the best defense year after year

Aaron Jones 4.6 yards per carry. Josh Jacobs 4.2 yards per carry. Please research the stats closer. Jones is better per carry. Jacobs only has only around 150 more yards in 14 games. 10 per game. Receiving Jones 322 vs Jacobs 302. Jones is better!

I feel like I’m the only 1 that saw that 100 of Sam Darnolds yards and 2 of his TDs came on blown coverages. 3 TDs and 250 is still a great game but the game would’ve been closer. I’m just as happy as the next Vikings fan with how well he’s playing but context matters. Let’s see the entire season play out and watch the playoffs before we debate resigning him.

That's a fair point, but at the same time I don't think it means those aren't undeserved yards. Like that JJ catch was a blown coverage because NOBODY expects SD to survive the pocket pressure that was there. So credit to him for surviving AND looking up to see busted coverage rather than run for 10-20 for what also would be a great play

Let’s say Minn finishes (13-4) CHI (W) 34-17 @ SEA (L) 23-30 (Auto L via short week) GB (W) 30-27 (Week 18 is irrelevant, everybody sits.) (L) Goes on to beat ATL/TB , 37-24 Final. And loses @ Phil 31-23. Let’s list the reasons for and against handing Sam a 3 year /120 mill deal. Reasons for: - Experience in system - Chemistry with offense/WRs - this was a 6.5 win team for a reason - bc the roster has holes - making what Sam is doing more impressive - dead cap hit Relief - making 2025 roster far superior - still just 27 years old - proven durable QB (Kirk/JJ 😏) - JJ durability is uncertain - JJ floor/ceiling is also uncertain - JJ still extremely young - JJ may need more time - Sky is the limit/No ceilings with Sam - and your SB window is officially open 💯 - where as JJ is more of “this better work” 🤞 Reasons not to extend SAM: - it’s just the system - KOC can do the same with JJ - JJ is a better leader - JJ is cheaper - Vikings roster can be better with JJ - than it can with Sam - JJ was always the plan I’m not gonna say anything more about it but some of the best shows, best books, and best movies were born from a director having a vision for something only to completely pivot to something else, DUE TO AN OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE BY A RELATIVELY UNKNOWN ACTOR/ACTRESS. Which is to say the Vikings “plans” being set in stone is laughable. Ideally you get at least 1 more year from Darnold, maybe 2, and then move on to JJ …… unless Darnold simply performs to well. It’s a great “problem” to have.

@ it makes no sense to you because you probably haven’t been around as long. My opinion is just that . Historically, the Vikes are perineal losers. That’s not my opinion, that’s just a matter of historical fact. But I never said I didn’t have hope. There’s the explanation you hardly deserve.
