I started first grade at the base school at Lindsey Air Station back in the 1960's, and my dad worked there as an USAF officer. Great time in Wiesbaden - learned how to snow ski in Bavaria and frequent family trips to Italy. It was fun being a dependent living abroad!

I was with the 601st TCS (Tactical Control Squadron) from Jan 76 to Oct 78 at Pruem AS. They and their sister organization, the 612th TCF (Flight) moved from Wiesbaden AB and/or Lindsey AS in 1975 during a big swap of Army and Air Force units around Germany. Best assignment ever even though it was a mobile unit and we spent a lot of time out in the field sleeping in tents!

Hey Mav, Slick here, thanks for the great times we had. I told a lot of people about the crazy film we made. Got a lot of laughs and disbelief.

Thank you so much for this video! I served at LAS in the 2063 Comm Sq from 89-92. I have some of the best memories of my life from those days. I was in the all female dorm at the front of the base to the left of the main gate. Looks like maybe thats a hs now? I worked on the top floor of the huge white building at the parade field in an office with no windows. I was crypto. I would love to go back someday. It def looks different but i betcha i could still find the NCO club where i spent sooo many Fri and Sat nights!!🍻

I have vivid memories of having to walk from Lindsey AS, cross the street, past the Amelia Earhart, into the hospital compound, across the heliopad, and into a clinic for a monthly series of immunizations. Got so many shots there!

I remember it well. My father and family were stationed at Wiesbaden from 1968 -1971and I attended 6th grade at Lindsey Elementary. I went on to attend 7th and 8th grade at Wiesbaden Jr High and part of 9th grade at HH Arnold high school. Back then it was all USAF not Army as it is today. We lived our first year off base in the town Wingsbach located in the Taunus mountains. We would take a school bus into Lindsey Air Station for school and I remember the large sand field in front of our school buildings which was our play ground. Great memories!

Drove into Wiesbaden - Lindsay Air Station every third day for a couple of years (1970-71) to pick up supplies for our team (D Team USArty 501St Detachment) in Westerburg (80 kilometers away). I wonder if the Wiesbaden audio club building still exists? David L. Rodrigue CPA - retired.

At time line 4:05, the building on the right that you mentioned was the bowling alley in your time; that was the post office during my time from 1989-1992. Straight ahead was the bank and mini PX just like during your time. Walter's Imbiss was by far the best food stand, so close to LAS and Amelia Earhart.

Hi Mav, Curt Kiser here. Thanks for the walk-around Lindsey. What did they put in place of the motor pool? BTW, I heard that the Rocker Club was later put to use as a Mosque.
@rmavro7 ай бұрын
Hi Curt! -- The motor pool (where you jumped for my camera kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5rRc4VobbSomZY) is a series of appartment buildings. I made my way around to where our shop was located and that has been replaced with a rather modern office building and road that exits to the street. So many memories, mostly good. I didn't see a Mosque, but there may be one.
