I doubt she plays this well while moving. In cases like these they just overlap the studio audio with the video and synchronize it. I'm not saying she can''t do what she shows in the videos, but just keep in mind that there is some difference between what you hear and what she actually sounds like.

one look at Lindsey (or even more so Mairead Nesbitt - she is the reason I play violin - kzbin.info/www/bejne/sF7XpaWHaJ2ghcU) - and that idea goes completely out of the window!!! Suppose it depends on the coordination and strength of the player! Great performances from Lindsey all the time!

There is something crazy about that thought man. Humans are defiant beings, and by that i mean that every time someone tells us not to do it or you can't do it, we just reply them with:"Oh yeah? Watch me and take the notes!". So yeah, if you want it, you can have it.

I like Lindsey, but at the same time she pulls attention and resignation from other violinists that are WAY better than her, if you have ever heard her live playing you will understand that she really isn't even close to the best violinists. I play cello but I've seen that whenever a violinists tells someone they play violin, the first thing they ask is if the violinist has heard of Lindsey Stirling... when there are others way better than her and it can get quite annoying.

TO BE FAIR, her AGT audition wasn't very good. I personally didn't like it. Lindsay did show the judges how amazing she actually is though, by improving. that's why Linsday is so inspirational, she got rejected on live TV in front of 100s of millions of people, but she didn't give up, she improved A LOT and became what she is today. her live performances have gotten much better.

Sorry, what authenticity? A few Indian instruments, the vocals use classical Indian /Carnatic sounds, but pretty sure they’re off (not sung by someone trained in Indian music) or ruined during mixing? & the video shows costumes that are anything but Indian, in fact the belly dancing belts are Arabian influence. So it’s basically a mishmash fantasy piece not true to any particular region/culture etc. I usually like Lindsey’s work but those pieces are either Celtic, classical or fantasy. Not this particular piece.

For those crying "cultural appropriation" in the comments: The proper definition of cultural appropriation is claiming a culture of which you're not a part to be your own. I'll use myself as an example. I'm German, so I celebrate German culture. If someone who isn't German likes the culture and decides to partake in something like, let's say, Oktoberfest, but doesn't claim that s/he is German, I have no problem with that. But if that same person claims to be German, when in fact, s/he is Portuguese, then that would start rustling my jimmies. Now, I know some might say, "But you're European. You did that all the time and still do that." I'll include a better example. I play the didgeridoo, an instrument played by Australian Aborigines. I'm not claiming to be Aboriginal, I just appreciate the didgeridoo for what it is. But if I was claiming to be Aboriginal, that would make me a jerk. And nobody likes a jerk. If anything, what Lindsey's doing here is cultural appreciation. She's not claiming to be Indian, she's drawing inspiration from Hindu culture for this song/video. If all of her songs were like this, then yeah. That'd be offensive. But this is one song off of one of three albums. So please. Chill out. Have some popcorn. Just calm down. Edit: If you do wanna argue with me, please do so in a civilized manner. Don't resort to insults and the race card. I will point and laugh at you. Edit #2: 130+ likes in four days. My, what talking sense can do.

When you take from another culture that you do not belong to, that is cultural appropriation. But not all cultural appropriation is created equal!! Some cultures are more "closed" than others, and adaptations of their symbols and styles is NOT okay, but in this case Indian culture is at a point where they ENCOURAGE people sharing and spreading their culture. They have survived British occupation for literally hundreds of years and they're survive 1 musician using Bollywood influence in their music. Are there any Indians in the comments whinging about Lindsey's use of music and imagery here???

Thank goodness someone else said it. I'm so tired of EVERY TIME someone who isn't part of a particular culture, gets accused of "cultural appropriation" when they step outside the lines. There is nothing wrong with being inspired by other cultures, plus, there were clearly people of middle eastern descent in the video, and lending vocals. Just because someone steps outside of their own culture, doesn't make it appropriation. I'm African American and I love to belly dance, but I'm not acting like I come from the Middle East. Cultural appropriation is taking something from another culture and acting like you own it, or invented it, or came from it when you didn't. Art is inspired by many things. We can't understand each other if we don't share our cultures with each other, and allow each other to partake in those aspects.

Different musical scales can be very powerful. Lindsey Stirling is, in essence, taking a specific limit to what notes she can play on the violin and working from there.

@@lindseystirling Don't ever want to be negative Or troll , I'm a fan of your talent And wish I could play the violin. My wish of being able to play is NOT to the same level as your skill . Just enough that it wouldn't sound good enough for me to play with an Orchestra Tho NOT so terrible that it's sounds like a cat is being tortured 🎻🐈. I've given two Or three of your videos the thumbs up vote 🗳 , Although i did give this video { sadly 😥 } the dislike 👎 vote because as it sounded fantastic at the start it failed to please me as the melody went on. Maybe 🤷 the vocals had something to do with it { too } . Disappointed as I was thinking before stopping the video { for need to end what my ears don't like } of telling someone I know in India about this composition of yours { which I'm sure you meant as a tribute to the people of India 🇮🇳 } . 💯% LOVE your piece " Christmas Carol's bells " . It's better than your other one I like " Elements " . Your Christmas bells one I wish I could make my ringtone 📳🎶 . 👨⚖️🇦🇺🇳🇴

Let us count the videos: ... 10 out of 12 of her original songs from her first album she made into official videos. 8/14 for Shatter Me. 7/18 for Brave Enough. And I would include "Violin Rock". From her originals I am aware of, and what about "Forgotten City from RiME"? *Queen of the music videos* she has also been called. :)

Hey...my son took up violin back when he was in 4th grade...so I can relate. He went to a Lindsey concert in Chicago back when she was relatively new...had backstage tickets, she signed his neck rest...he got to meet and talk with her....NOW....he's 17....and 1st chair at his high school and plays with the local youth symphony. There's hope...I remember when Mary had a little lamb was really Mary had a screeching cat. He's working on his solo now and this is what he's playing...kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGjVqZ9rgNiDoNU

her dancing has improved enormously, with precision body moves , pointed feet rather than kicking all over the place as earlier on. Very polished sharp, wonderfully put together imaginative artistic the list goes on .....lovely music interesting themes . Best wishes forever Lindsey you are a natural star.
@1014p Жыл бұрын
She has been pretty direct in her motions for literally years now. It depends on the song if she always sticks to doing kick with pointed feet. I have yet to see this as set standard in dancing as the end all formality. Seen a lot of higher tier groups going either way song theme pending.

It’s not cultural appropriation if she’s paying tribute to it. She’s appreciating different cultures, not claiming them.
@throughthelookingglass59733 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I'm a person who loves to dress up, sing, dance in the fashion of other cultures, but I'm not insulting them. It's my way of showing love for cultures that are different from my own. I don't get people's message about "cultural appropriation." Like, what are they trying to say? Dressing outside of my own culture is an insult and forbidden?? Certainly, that kind of thinking doesn't broaden one's mind.
