Line 6 | DL4 MkII | Part One - Quickstart

This DL4 MkII tutorial shows how to connect an instrument or dynamic microphone to DL4 MkII, an expression pedal or external footswitches, MIDI, MicroSD, and the provided DC1g power supply. Basic operations such as choosing the delay type, adjusting parameters, looper operation, and saving a preset are also covered.
The DL4 Delay Modeler has remained one of the most widely used delay pedals in the world for more than two decades. The DL4 MkII includes all the sounds and features of the original, while introducing new sounds and features. The 15 new MkII delays were drawn from our HX® family of amp and effects processors and the 4-Switch and 1-Switch looper types offer up to 240 seconds of record time (expandable to several hours using an optional microSD card). There's an XLR microphone input, MIDI In and Out/Thru connectors, heavy duty footswitches, three bypass options, and a jack for connecting an optional expression pedal or two footswitches. The DL4 MkII is also smaller and lighter than the original, making it an even more appealing choice for modern musicians.

That is a very welcome update. I love all the extra functionality and sounds. Some thoughts though..: Sad that it does not have a screen with so many params. Just make an update to change between loop and delay with the press of 2 buttons. Please make an FM4 and dont f up the obiwah sound like you did with the m and helix series. Thanks.

Hey folks, one question about the classic-looper: How do you reset/delete the recorded loop?

Use the play/stop button (second from the left,) to stop the loop. Then if you hit the record/overdub button, (all the way to the left,) you’ll be recording fresh without the previous loop underneath. Also anytime you select a different delay type and then go back to the looper, the previous loop will no longer be there. This is how it functions without an SD card inside, but I imagine the first technique still functions the same even if you’re using an SD card to store the last played loop. Hope this helped. This is an amazing update. Anyone know if the 1 switch looper function can be assigned to a midi controller? I have a 4 switch midi controller Ampero Hotone. Like to have 1 - thick reverb and delay 2 - tighter for gain amp 3 - vocal preset for recording videos and 4 be the 1 switch looper. If I can do all that and use the functions of the standard switches on this pedal, I’ll be blown away

Got mine a few days ago. So far so good. Does any one else experience your loop coming back on for about a second when you try to clear it from memory? I assigned the far right Tap switch to the Looper function (white light) and when you hold it in to clear the loop it comes back on briefly. Not so bad in your practice room but i could see this as a problem if you perform at a gig.

What about the significant volume drop from the first DL4, is that fixed? Why not have a dedicated looper shortcut? As it sits, it’s still a “looper only” “delay only” style pedal… This is very sad to see.

you can apply the far right footswitch (tap) to be the trigger to go into looper mode

Hello line 6 support. I experience a problem on my Pod HD500 when i turn it on it gets repeatedly restarting on logo. How to solve this??

I don't know why they can't make these things intuitive and easy to use. i shouldn't have to watch tutorials to use a pedal. the unit didn't even come with a user manual.
