It would be interesting to revisit this now that we have dual amp/cabs models in the Helix.

I tried out the 2nd option (Helix into a real amp with 2 stereo speakers), and it sounds MASSIVE!!!! Thank you for helping me discover W-D-W!!

Really cool stuff, Jason. Although my band gigs are essentially one stage amp with one mic to the board, the more I know about my Helix, the better. I will definitely try this next time I'm doing some home recording, for sure. Thanks once again for being our No. 1 go-to for all things Helix.

Is there a way to set up wet dry wet with the Pod Go? The set up would include: a tube amp in the middle (dry) and two frfr powered speakers on the left and right (wet). Thanks!

Hey Jason! I have a question about the helix and its W/D/W capability. What you've demonstrated in the video is a pseudo W/D/W setup where there's some level of the dry signal being passed through the wet channels. Can the helix be set up so that one could have maybe a reverb and delay on separate signal paths and then mixed in to stereo outputs at the end? This way, one could use the delay and reverb fully wet and achieve a true W/D/W sound. This is assuming that the dry channel is set up properly of course.

Fantastic video as always, Jason. I only use two Yamaha HS-8 Monitors, and it works with my Helix.

I own the HX Effects. I love it. I run direct out of my EVH 5153S into a Bray line out box. The Bray extracts a line output signal and passes the Amp output straight to my center 2x12 cab for my dry signal. The extracted line output then goes to my HX Effects input one. I then run output one to my left 4x12 cab and use a block to create a send 1/2 at the end of my chain of Effects. I then run the send one output to my right cab. It works pretty good for a wdw setup. Though I think what I will try out is to not use output one altogether. Instead I will go to my global settings and make send one a stereo signal and split that by using a trs 1/4" to two RCA connections and the RCA's will feed my stereo output Amp which will have stereo output to the two 4x12 cabs.

Hi Jason - Nice vid. I was thinking... instead of splitting path 2 before the cab could you not just add a SEND OUT at this point ? Does the same job but retains the ability to split the path 2 for something else if you needed the versatility.

Jason, thank you so much for teaching us all how to better use, explore and enjoy our Line6 Helix!! I love this thing! This is not a wet dry wet (wet dry) question, but my question is along similar lines of what you're discussing in this video. How would you go about properly routing an external drum machine/looper? For what I have in mind the Helix looper consumes a lot of DSP and two separate paths are problematic using the looper Helix provides (plus, no drums.... *sad face*). I'm using a Digitech Trio+ while using some amazing synth patches I picked up that are really fun to jam over. Naturally the synth and guitar are on separate paths, BUT it would be next level awesome to send the guitar path AND the synth path into the Trio+ and not have to constantly change synth cords the entire time while jamming. I hope I explained the concept well enough. This situations is slightly unique I think. That would be a great video tutorial also pa pa pa please.Thoughts? Regards, Jim

Great video Jason!! I was curious, when you mentioned adapting this routing for a situation like just two studio monitors I'm guessing just by switching the Send1/2 vs 3/4 on the outputs, I'd get the wet going to one with the dry going to the other monitor..(effectively collapsing the Wet-Dry-Wet down to a Wet-Dry...). But if I want to use it through headphones and get the same effect, would I have to also PAN one of the paths hard left and the other path hard right? Thanks for all the content you put out, I've learned SOOOO much about my Helix from you already!!

Thanks so much Jeremy :-) Glad you enjoy the videos! I believe I was referring to doing more of a pseudo W-D-W by just having it come out of a stereo set of speakers and controlling the balance of dry and wet from the separate paths. But, the method you mention in your comment would work as you describe also :-) Not sure if that is any help!

If I had three studio monitors, could I send left out to left monitor, right out to right monitor and xlr (using xlr to 1/4) out to another monitor as my center?

So far I don't like the delays on the Helix. They are too fancy and weird, I like ducking delays without all the weird modulation crap.
