I really don’t know what I would do without your videos and knowledge. I was losing sleep when I first got the Helix. Had so many gigs coming up and was afraid I had gotten myself in way too deep. Then I found our vids. Now, I’m helping people dial their Helix in and fall in love with it the way you helped me. I was running the Placater live for a while. Which, I still love. But I’ve recently went back to the Archetype. After watching this video for the millionth time, I think I’ll be changing my settings up. Ps. Super stoked about the Helix update involving the shelf Eq. I wonder where that idea came from? 😂 Again, thank you for everything.

Thank you SO much Trevor :-) Really glad to hear the videos have been helpful...I am really looking forward to the shelf EQ too, look for some vids on that when it is out :-)

Thanks so much for this...FINALLY got myself a Helix LT and I had dialed in something I thought was pretty nice on this...then fouled up my cab and mic settings, and couldn't find a way back...I don't have much experience using actual mics on actual cabs so It takes me 800 years of trial and error to dial something in. Thank you for providing your settings here. I run my helix through some budget PA speakers and all of the snapshot settings you provided sound terrific. Saved me hours and hours and produced a much more satisfying result.

LOL. I created a patch several months ago with the Archetype which I loved then I wandered away from. Going to load yours and use it again for some stuff. Thanks for bumping the memory cells. Great stuff Jason.

Excellent! Simply excellent, Jay! Thanks so much. One of these times, I'd love it if you could do some Tele-centric settings and amps you've found that go great with the only guitar that really matters! :))) Thanks again. Great work!

Thank you so much I.G.I.A and my pleasure :-) I would love to do a Tele-centric patch or two, the only thing stopping me is the lack of having a Tele..lol

I used to run a Soldano Avenger and a Mesa Single Recto in a dual mono set-up back in the day. What I have noticed is this amp model sounds to me exactly like that set-up I used to use. It's such a great amp in the Helix.

Jason, Thank you again for helping out Helix users. This is such a helpful series. I’m a Les Paul/SG guy, and I have found that the bright switch on is really nice for the clean/push tone on the Archon clean. I believe that the Archon lead was actually modeled with the bright switch on. It really helps the tone cut. I just used the Archon model in a very similar way last weekend at a gig, and it’s such a versatile amp model. How did I live without the Helix before? Hmmm.
@JasonSadites6 жыл бұрын
My pleasure steel :-) I hear you on how we lived without the Helix! I am sure that bright switch could be great, I just wasn't feeling it on this particular tone...

Well, I asked for this sometime ago, so thanks a lot. I think you are right to turn off the split adjustment on the cap for the lead channel. You didn't address the very special depth parameter on this amp. I find it nice to boost on the clean channel. I also like the Interstate caps with this amp.... It brings on some nice vintage feel to both clean and lead channel. Last comment ,- put in a klon in front of the lead - so warm and smooth sound :-)

This is 4 years old and we've had a bunch of nice Helix updates since then, but that tone is still... wow! Also, it helps if you can play like Jason Sadites of course. 😎 Still: it's an amazing tone, I'm using the Soldano now (Solo lead), but I'm going to go back to the Archetype clean and lead for a new preset with some nice snapshots!

LOVE this patch Jason... thanks. Would you mind helping me out to understand what your fingering is on the riff you play around 10:15. The one that pedals off of the C? I'm missing a note somewhere and can't get it sounding right. I would have usually played something more 'power chordy' for that type of riff, but really like that voicing.
@JasonSadites6 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear you like the patch so much :-) That is a riff from a song on my first album. The song is Dirty Little Thing off of my Orbit album. It is actually a Cmin7 chord with no 5th. So it is 3rd finger on 3rd fret on 5th string. 1st finger on 1st fret on 4th string. 4th finger on 3rd fret on 3rd string. I love that voicing with a distorted tone :-) Hope that helps!
@iammoog6 жыл бұрын
Amazing! Thanks man, I'll give it a whirl later on. I'll have to check out that album too :)

Please help! How in the world do you get each snap shot to change the settings on the volume/ pan blocks? Everytime I try this Helix does not save the changes for each snap shot. It's like I can only turn blocks on and off on each snap, not have different settings. This has been the biggest issue I've had with all my custom presets.

You can search on my channel for a video I did all about Snapshots which should answer your question :-)

Hmm, very strange because the amp model in the Helix sounds exactly like the Randall Archetype. You sure its based off the PRS one?
