I really enjoyed this, especially the insights you offer, Jason. At times, it almost sounded like Clapton playing his Strat on "Blues Power" but not nearly as bright. This is a great set of tones. Thanks so much for all you do!

Nice Jason. That very bright British invasion tone. Very usable preset to work with. Thanks for work that you do on these. I will definitely be loading this one.

Sounded really nice I realize when I hear you talk about the split cross over and talk about the various frequencies within an EQ control that I need to learn more about that and how they all work... would love a lesson in that if not a recommendation or video on how to adjust each frequency accordingly...

Love that you are dialing in all the amp models one by one, I am watching them all. I've learned a lot about Helix and the way you go through these really sparks my interest in the product. I do have to say your dialins sound overly bright and present to me on my guitars (bridge pickup), maybe because all I have right now is are single coil guitars (strat and tele)?
@JasonSadites
@JasonSadites 6 жыл бұрын
Hey curefan, glad you are enjoying the videos :-) It could be that your pickups are brighter than mine. Could I ask what you are monitoring on?

I've got TexMex pickups in my Strat copy and a duncan hot lead stack in my MIM Tele bridge. Monitoring on AKG240 headphones and a Fender Frontman 25R which I have set to what people say is a flat response (bass and treb at 1, mids at 10). Similar sound from both phones and amp. Eventually I will get a Les Paul and an FRFR PA speaker. I hope Line6 is doing something for ya, I think your videos do a lot more to sell their product than they do on youtube!

Line 6 are a great company to deal with and full of truly great folks to deal with :-) Very hard to say why the presets sound so bright without actually trying your monitoring setup. Maybe try messing with the EQ on the Fender Frontman. Some headphones to tend to have a sound that accentuate the highs also, can't say for the AKG240's but I always crosscheck on my Senheisser HD600's and things usually sound pretty good.

Hi Jason, I have the Pod Go & also use the WhoWatt100 amp & Greenback 25 cab. Can you go over the settings adjusting from distortion down to a clean tone to use for Snapshots? Thank you.

This sounded fantastic! If I turned the amp/cab into one block and replaced the reverb/delay with an effects loop block I could use this patch on HX Stomp right? Loving the series :) you've probably got a long list on the go, would love a dialing in lukather patch maybe hold the line by toto? That song has a chorus/doubling effect that you can't really get with a normal pedal, would be cool to see the helix nail it, keep it up!
@JasonSadites
@JasonSadites 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Ryan and glad you liked it :-) Yeah as long as you can get it to 6 blocks or less it should work great on HX Stomp! I have been meaning to get to a Lukather style tone, always a great tone to have!

Hey Jason maybe not your zone but how about a dialing in of the high gain amps for some metal tones. I know you are a blues guy but i would love to see your aproach on the meteor for example. Thanks and love your insightful videos. You got me up and running in a couple of days when i got my LT. Cheers from Malta!

Thanks for the message and so glad you like what I do :-) I am planning on doing some heavier tones for sure. Actually, i am not really much of a Blues guy at all...lol But I kno what you mean that I tend to gravitate towards tones that aren't super heavy. I will see what I can do for some heavier tones :-)

Jason - I love all these Dialing In videos. Have really helped me with the Helix. A question for you: what is your tone knob set to on your guitar(s)? I thought the HiWatt sounded a little brighter than I would have expected. Wondering if your guitar tone knob is influencing that sound. Keep up the great work; it is very much appreciated. Regards, Jim

Thank so much for the kind words Jim and my pleasure :-) I pretty much keep my tone knob full on so it would not be darkening the tone up at all. Can I ask what you are monitoring through?

Jason - I am using Adam 7 speakers (I'm an older guy that has taken up guitar again and recording/making music in a very amateur home studio). It is less that tone from my speakers than what I think of with HiWatt - which is David Gilmour; a very full tone to my ears (though as someone said below, this sounds very much like Clapton or the Who). Thanks for the note on your tone setting; I thought that was the case but wasn't sure. Something I haven't had a chance to try (work - sigh) is something I saw recently on another KZbin video: guy was saying you can get more sustain by upping bias and biasX on the amp. Not sure if you have heard this but was curious if you had tried that. Thanks again for the response. Have a good one! Jim

great great tone. in this particular tone what is the position of Helix's volume knob?
@PB-1

great video! Just curious if you are ever tempted to use the "low cut" on the cabinet block to roll of the low frequencies below 100hz instead of using the EQ pedal?
@JasonSadites
@JasonSadites 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you Philip :-) Yes I have used the cabinet low cut at times but it is a much less steep or drastic cut than the ones in the eq block. That is why I tend to prefer the Eq block cuts. Thanks for the question!

Jason, I notice that u don't really use a lot of the od/distortion pedals to drive the amp. Is it that u don't like the pedal models or feel like u lose the amp characteristics? Or some other reason? Keep up the great work.
@JasonSadites
@JasonSadites 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks James :-) I have always preferred to get my OD/Distortion from the amp if at all possible. It is always just the way I have liked to do it. That is not to say that great tones cannot be had using OD pedals, just my preference. Maybe time for a video using OD pedals :-)

why use split with volume and not EQ?
@JasonSadites
@JasonSadites 2 жыл бұрын
This video was done long before there was a shelf eq in the Helix. It is because of my videos and use of the split volume blocks that Line 6 added the shelf eq in a firmware update.
