Nice tip, keep the live gig tips coming. Got anything on using the AES cable versus a patch cable to the powercab? AES bypasses the global EQ if I remember. Which one is better?

You got me to look at the Global EQ on the unit for the first time - I've always done it through HX Edit (gig? what's a gig?). They certainly didn't go to any lengths on the graphics on the device!

This is a great tip, i actually know based on FOH feedback on my signal that i need to reduce my level by -9.5db. I am going out at instrument level 1/4" going to a canvas DI to XLR. I was doing a per preset adjustment on the Output block of -9.5DB, but came across this recommendation. my question though, since this is EQ does it color the tone in anyway? Since its not just a level adjustment it seems to still apply some EQ settings? is there a recommendation to do this the best way on a preset level - should i adjust Channel Volume on amp? Output volume on the output block? any other recommendations. Thanks for what you do

This eq set flat will do nothing to your sound. If you do want to adjust each preset individually, then both options you mentioned are just as good. I would say channel volume over output block just to make it part of your regular workflow

Nice! Getting ready to bust my Helix cherry, so I'm sure this will come in handy (I've been whoring all of your Helix vids the past week). FYI, the 3 bars button, call it a hamburger. Believe it or not, I've done well teaching old people that term at UI/UX events. My old ass parents know what it means, FINALLY! :D

Absolutely. You'd ve surprised how many sound engineers either don't have modern boards or dont have appropriate experience knowing how to gainstage. It's rare, but happens
