Great vid Mike. I use mine every day in my studio. A great addition to my kit for sure. I was considering taking it out to a gig!

i like how many ppl didn't realize that POD has great classic rock tones. I play POD floor and wasn't pleased by heavy metal presets but explored a lot, plugged Tube Screamer and boost and can play Jake E Lee or Akira Takasaki style. The main trick is bcs Floor gives opportunity in creating your own tones without mimic some other ones'. Great video 🤘

It is still very relevant. That fuzz.... whew. The force was strong with that one! Thanks Mike!

Very good video. I learned some things about the different amps. Thank you for that. I have the XT Live (floor pedal model) and so far I'm really enjoying it. Running straight to the mixer. We use in ear monitors for live gigs and have no stage monitors or amps...it's a new experience for me but so far I'm loving it. Thanks for sharing.

I just bought one yesterday. I never heard about it. I love it. Videos like these have helped me understand how to use it. Very educational and inspiring. But I noticed on your Pod in the Amp Models it says Rectified while on my Pod it says Treadplate. Maybe that's the British version of Treadplate. I live in the U.S. Your channel was suggested by Brent Hutchinson who has his own channel on KZbin.

I owned a pod many years ago, they do certainly still hold there own. I watched an old interview with Francis Rossi and he said that he and Rick both used a pod plugged straight into a desk for recording, so that's a very good recommendation if anything and there very good value for money considering they were around £360 new in the 90's and can be picked up mint for less than £100 today.

I've seen them as low as £20 on ebay it's amazing

They may start going up in value after your review. I own an Atomic Amplfi which lives in a cuboard, this is just a newer version like the Pod, they are now tumbling in value and prices are dropping on eBay. Another good old unit is the Boss ME-50, this has no amp sims but can get some really good tones. I bought my son one when he was a young teenager and he used that while learning to play the guitar and still uses it today. He works for PMT now and is one of the guys on there KZbin channel (Custom Shop Sundays) so the unit has definitily paid for itself.

I'll have to dig out my Pod HD and revisit. I remember buying it and never really gelled as it just didn't have the feel and response of a tube amp at the time. Not when I could just plug into a Marshall and the tone was there without a pedal. That being said, I got a Blackstar TVP head a few back now and nearly forget I'm not playing a tube amp once you dial them in. The stock presets (like a lot of modellers) aren't the best but once you dial them it's pretty convincing.

For an old piece of portable tech and used at super low prices these days...you almost can't go wrong, especially for practicing and messing around in the road, vacationing, etc! Hope you're feeling better and had some rest after the show...some technical difficulties with the video I did of our chat...looking forward to that interview/hang out in the near future! 😎🎸

The Brit High Gain + Delay/Chorus 1 is what sold me on the Pod 2.0... later bought the PodXt expecting that sound to be there plus extra stomp effects and they ruined it. PodXt was a fizz-box.

Great video as always. I'm still interested to hear any comparisons between this, the real deal amps/effects and the AxeFXIII. I've been yearning for new floor processor gear and I was slightly disappointed in the POD Go that was revealed at NAMM. I think they left out some key features that are in my Firehawk FX (mainly the Bluetooth integration with an app) that will make me avoid that as an upgrade. Can't wait to see/hear your NAMM videos. Had to miss most of your livestreams as I was busy with family. Hope you enjoyed yourself. God bless and rock on!
