Nice video! Decided to buy it with the black friday sale :) I have one question - How did you achieve this sound at 23:08? It so clean and distinct.. When i use this preset, it is pretty distorted and nowhere as clean as yours. Does it actually depend on the guitar i use? Or did you tweak something in helix for this preset?

What a good choice!! I still believe that helix is one of the best options out there, the sound is really HiFi and there’s tons of options. And, I think the difference may be how hard you’re hitting your interface, I have a video about clean sound, gain staging and input section of the interfaces. I like to make sure if I’m in a single coil guitar, I make sure my input meters are reading anywhere from 60-70% of the level, if it’s Humbucker I’ll go from like 70-95% that as a rule of thumb will make most ampsims work at their best. If a preset is clean, you would be clean, if it’s od you’ll be od and if it’s high gain, you’ll be high gain. If you’re distorting a clean sound, it’s a good telling that your input leveled are too hot. I hope this helps my friend!

I hated Helix first.But now I love it.Jason Sadites is admirably responsible for educating users. His choice of effects in a certain order was most valuable for me.I usually cut at 90ish Hz and at 5.5 to 6 kHz.They also definitely improved it with the updates.I never use the presets either !

It really is an impressive piece of software. My favorite overdrive I’ve ever heard is that KOT, wow. So good! I’m gonna wait until there’s a good sale and maybe snatch it!! Thanks for your comment friend! I appreciate it!

You can basically make anything with Helix, and it feels great playing. AmpliTube is lacking in that department, one tip to get rid of the hifi tone, that is anyoing you, put the low pass in the cab mics down to 5 k . Problem solved, you need to know your tools and how to get your tone with it :)

21:27 That one sounds like the Dimebag stuff in Amplitude. I'm not familiar with his band so I could be wrong. Some people like the Dimebag tone, many I think do not. Watching your live testing Helix is making me consider this amp sim.

It’s terrible 🤣🤣🤣 I don’t remember pantera sounding like that, I remember him having like a 22” speaker on a cab 🤣 I can’t posible imagine he would cut all the mids and lows. But the plugin has its advantages! It sounds really good!! I’m liking it. It’s a least worth getting the demo and check it out for a few days. Anyway, have a great weekend friend!

When you clicked on the pedal photo and 2 sliders popped up, I was thinking, what the hey? I want to turn knobs on a picture of a pedal, for a realistic feel (almost), true to an actual pedal. I think they lost some realism by doing it that way with sliders (and maybe some prospective customers as well). Love all the options it has however. And you're right that most plugins' presets are terrible out of the box. My second or third amp was a L6 ax-212, then I got a vetta after that and was never happy with the digital sounding distortion, so sold that. The Vetta kind of soured me on L6 and I never bought a product from them again after that. IMO, L6 fell behind in the modeling world when Peavey started coming out with their trans tube distortion analog sounding products. Great video Jorge.

Looks like quite the playground for sure! I love getting lost in an avalanche of options and tweak-ability which I know a lot of guitarists avoid. I think I'd really have fun with Helix Native and I've considered purchasing recently. Excellent video, Holmes!

I was pretty surprised by the sense of HiFi I got from this plugin for sure. Of course, it’s not perfect 🤣🤣🤣 all I want is the same, but with AMPS!! 🤣🤣🤣 I wanna see the knobs, have fun with a cool colorful UI, but, what a never ending pool of sounds!!, granular control, pretty good. I wasn’t expecting this much from line 6, but I guess, it’s not the same line 6 that I grew up with, that’s great to see!! Have a wonderful weekend my friend, thank you for your nice comment and your support!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for the demo, great video dude ! I was looking at Helix to replace my Tonex and be able to handle my tone more precisely. After watching a lot of videos, I finally made up my mind with Fractal Audio FM9. The only problem I'm facing now is that the European retailer charges twice the price because they are the only ones allowed to sell it. Thanks for the video
@Itsjorgelanzas6 ай бұрын
Dude!! I think I 100% agree with you. Fractal has really really great sounding stuff, sort of easy to use and extremely capable!! It’s very expensive and all, but I would argue that it’s worth it. I wonder if they have a full Axe Fx plugin? That would be sick for the studio! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 thanks for your nice comment my friend!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

I have Line6 Spyder amp and it's a reliable workhorse. I also still have an XT Live processor that I keep around as a backup. The Line6 stuff works, but I got convinced that modeling isn't a substitute for real tubes. My Zoom G9.2tt processor has tubes built in and I'm saving up for a Blackstar tube amp. My friend locally has gone the opposite direction - from tubes to all in on Line6 Helix.

You’re right! I don’t even have a memory of breaking one of those spiders, they just worked, everywhere we took em 🤣🤣 and, There’s beauty to the real gear, no matter if it’s tubes or transistors, as long as cable is burning, it feels good!! I just can see myself opening that can of worms 🤣🤣🤣 but, it’s like a $5k can of worms, the amp, pedals, pedalboard and so on, yeah,,,, too much for me right now, but it’s in the cards! 🧘🏻”mooooorgann, moooorrrgan, mooooorgannnn” 🤣

@@Itsjorgelanzas I grew up in a very rural area and one of the neighborhood drunks used to make his own tube amps. I never once remember him being sober and couldn't figure out how he managed to not electrocute himself.
