Can I run a small manifold of some type on that port and pull the temp and pressure readings at the same time for dash gauges?

Yes they have stuff out there that make it a simple bolt on sensor

Hi I have 0 epc pressure but I have 70-100 line pressure on my windstar Transmission . The problem is it doesn't change gears past 2nd and I don't have any engine codes. what can be causing this?

Try checking your fluid, if it's not burnt you could have an issue with the valve body or electronics.

NPT (tapered) or NPS (Straight) 1/8"-27 on the pressure port? I know the cooler ports are 1/4"-18 NPS and it's important to not use NPT as it will try to expand the port and possibly crack the case = bad day..

why do you want to determine the pressure of the transmission????

You want to determine the pressure of the transmission to find out if there is a loss of pressure or a cross leak in system.

You also use pressure to determine if the TV cable is set properly. It is the only accurate way to tell if the TV cable is working the way it is supposed to be working so you don't damage your transmission. You would only have to worry about it if you changed your TV cable, Carburetor/EFI unit or linkage or removed/installed a new or rebuilt transmission.
