LINE ROLLER MAINTENANCE
There are two basic types of line rollers in the Daiwa spin reel range. They are divided between bush and bearing.
As the line roller is one of the hardest working components in your spin reel, it pays to know how to look after it so that it continues to function perfectly.

Hi there, I do not need to use grease in the bushings or plastic parts? My laguna Daiwa reel came with grease when I bought it.

You need more light, magnification of each part and its direction, positioning, and lastly, NLGI 00 grease for lubrication. Could you tell me which way those groves on bushing go towards, out - in ?. There are two on my Fuego white bushing and two inlets on black bushing.

Does anyone know why my diawa bg 4500 line roller got a gap that my braid fits in it and freights my line and is it an easy fix

ok on my reel the other end (not the screw end) has a dimple and small hole,i assume this is a lubrication port?

I had my line roller replaced recently but the new one doesn't actually roll; it now just acts as a smooth surface for the line I guess. Is this a problem in your opinion?

joel105200 know this is late, and while it can work it puts friction on the line and can make you have line twist way worse than normal.

Hi there. Could I request for a favour? I have a Daiwa certate hyper custom 3000 but I had been searching on KZbin got doing reel servicing for that particular reel. But however I cannot find one. So could I ask for a favour for a video of that? It's alright if it can't be done. Thanks!

Never lubricate the spool stem the oil goes down & that wrecks the anti Reverse ..

How do you place the line through the line roller ??

It rolls ON it, not THROUGH IT. Disengage the bail as if casting.....would you want your line going "through" ANYTHING on its way heading to the end of your rod ? Of course not.

Your drag is for THE SPOOL, not the bail's line roller (don't see any connecting parts, do you ?), so of course it operates independently.

Kinda hilarious to see A PART LEFT ON THE BENCH (!) that he failed to put back in ! WTF ?? And nobody from Daiwa thought to review, and notice, before posting ? Classic "fail" by DIY folks.... not the "Pro" types I prefer and am willing to pay for their expertise. But hey... the video was free....I got "what I paid for"....lol.
