L2 was the game that propelled me into the MMO genre. I remember coming back from school, eating in a hurry and then doing my homework as fast as i could, and then immediately logging in until bedtime... Damn you, NC Soft.

The Official L2 servers barely holds a sliver of the game's playerbase, the absolute majority of Lineage 2 Players is present in the ridiculously high number of private servers of older versions of the game that exists for over a decade.

Ncsoft's greed ruined one of the very best MMOs and a personal favorite of mine. It started way back in 2010-2012 where they went full with the in game shop. Player base started to disappear and today only 5-10 "whales" are left on official servers, who Nc still milks to this day. I absolutely hate them for ruining this game, but the best memories I had was from teens, playing with my friends. Little nostalgia trip there, cheers friend!

Lineage 2 died on official servers many, many years ago but still be very active on private servers up to the last worth chronicle where you can have all of the required drop list table/seven signs/populated low level zones and everything that made this game so fun in the past ......

I played over 12 years Lineage 2 and I don't like play any other MMORPG. But be Honest, Lineage 2 is fun only at first 6 chronicles (prelude -> Interlude) and then classic 1.0->2.0.

I don't understand how people like to play Interlude so much, is so fucking lackluster and boring, I mean I played Gracia Final and H5 also and they aren't perfect either but there is so much QoL improvements in the game that can't even play a Interlude server.

​I don't see improvements but bunch idiotic things that destroy whole sense of L2. Like instances, kamaels and elements. Also new designs of armors and weapons above S grade is awful.

Sometime during the mid 2000's I was playing this quite a bit until reaching end game, where it became clear that a certain two top clans were bot farming their levels and skill books/SP to utterly and completely control and decide the Heros on the server through underhanded methods. A whole lot of hot headed egotistical rats who literally cheated with bot programs during PvP to see enemies on the programs radar that hadn't even rendered on screen yet. End game was an entire sham. Most other aspects of the game was enjoyable though.

I played lineage 2 a long time ago, but I walked away when nobelese came out. Old Korean grinding games simply forced people to buy adena and I couldn't and wouldn't do that. The game would have been great if it didn't literally need crime bosses and Chinese prisoners using the game to feed the pay for gold economy.

Lineage 2 is the reason I am so adamantly against PVP in open world MM o's. My experience with this beautiful game with its beautiful music with its amazing class system. What's to get murdered again and again and again and again the actual instant I left the starter town to go hunt level one monsters. It happened on the 1st day it happened on the second day it happened during the second week and after that point I said enough is enough I'm done with this game.! It's the reason why in World of Warcraft I will only play on non PVP servers. It's also the reason I quit arcade because the second I go out to do some Mining some guy 50 times my level comes out to stamp me. In my opinion grieving should be punished with real life execution. Because these games could have had much more people playing them or not for the few a******* out there that make it their life's goal to make everyone else miserable

I played a lot of L2 servers and almost never had a person camping all starting town exits just to mess with low lvls (you have at least 4 exits in all towns and at least one town for each race) and even if they do you can avoid them by going out the other way around, you are only a crybaby who doesnt even care or tried to play a little bit.

@@c4nchi I am so glad, That because you have never dealt with griefers you believe that they don't exist. No one should have to go through the hell and torment of being constantly murdered again and again just for someone to get their jollies now as far as your experience with lineage too. I never even got to a town to begin with this happened in the starting newbie zone when you create your first character for the first time and log into the gameAnd our spawned for the very first time. The little 80 Biddy village that all players begin at was camped By max level players who got their jollies murdering anybody that got too far away from the guards. There were no entrances it was a cluster of about if I remember right 5 houses with no walls. Granted this was close to 15 maybe 20 years ago. So your experience and more recent years may be different than mine. Now from talking to other players at the time these griefers shouldn't have even been on the new zone island but somehow they found a way to glitch themselves in and spent the next 2 weeks terrorizing anyone who dared log into the game on a new character. It is the reason why I gave up on lineage because if PVP was this bad at the very beginning before you even get to level 2 what's it gonna be like when you get to level 10 and leave that island question mark. The same kind of events have happened to me on other PVP enabled servers in other games . It's why I don't play PVP open world games anymore I got a very bad experience and it has stuck with me all These years. I refused to budge on my stanceThat open world p VP is made exclusively so people who have nothing better to do with their lives and no honor can bully and abuse people weaker than them.

LOL. I tried the game like 4 months ago and it feels like playing a mobile game.. Tele here to kill this tele there tele blah blah!!! Sucks!!! I've been a Game Master of the SEA server and I missed the old school game!!!
