I’ve seen a few of your short videos with this gentleman, but after Sabbath, I realized he looked familiar. I checked his name and then looked at my church bulletin from Sabbath yesterday-I was shocked to find out I had just listened to a sermon by him! Even his voice sounded familiar, but I couldn’t place it until I double-checked. That’s what I love about the Adventist Church-you can visit a church in another country and still find someone you know or someone connected to you through mutual friends or family. I’ve heard stories of people going to Guam and running into someone who knew their parents! Even with over 20 million members, the Adventist Church still feels like a small, tight-knit community. That’s why all the challenges of the shaking are so heartbreaking!

I would like to hear Stephan’s view point on what’s happening within our church with regard to mandates.

“Mandate” a term of the early 21st century, which basically is used by those who feel or felt that only their life and their beliefs mattered. However, the government didn’t insist that anyone give up their faith beliefs, government didn’t come in and tear down their churches, the government didn’t tell them they couldn’t run to innovate and use modern technology to communicate with one another. To them the only kind of meaningful communication is face-to-face person to person and diseased to the undiseased. There were people who had Covid and spread it amongst their family members and lost those family members and parents who left their children as orphans. These are people who don’t realize that scripture clearly tells us that the Lord mandated procedures to protect against disease. When I hear that word, I pretty much know the kind of people I’m talking to and what they think.

Every society and individual has had the concept in mind that how I like to be treated points to the way I should treat others! Even people groups that had no exposure to Christian thought for thousands of years knew this To be true. Wise men in all these cultures pronounced this concept! Jesus said that those who treat the widows, poor, and prisoners with respect, helping them, will sit at His right hand in the kingdom. There will be millions - maybe billions who never heard anything about the cross! “What are these marks in your hands.”

Adultery, of course that’s what it is. I never really thought about that even though I know it’s the same principal I like that term though. Prohibition. An idea that would’ve been really great except that it ended up providing a fertile field for crime that we suffer from today .
