It is a good conversation you are having with the master. I appreciate you agreeing with him on many subjects with your own experience, but I would like to hear more questions being asked in regards to how some of the pieces fit together. Finding a teacher that will allow you to ask questions is a huge indicator to me of their ability to be effective teachers; it is part of the development of listening skill, in a sense

I train in traditional kung fu and the reason is that most people don't understand what they see because alot of martial artist in America are power eccentric and they don't believe in having an internal base. Trust me having that knowledge is potent and but like Muhammad Ali said. The thing that separates the good from the great is that the greats are willing to train endure and do things that the vast majority of practitioners aren't willing to do. Example like Michael Jordan playing a bulls game while having the flu. Most players wouldn't but its Michael Jordan is a great player.

It's a good thing to feel the struggle for a little , that's is a good sign for something new. This is the first time I see this position , and I love it. I can see lots of details and depth within this position , is a good practice. The hand and elbow position is actually an inward rotation force practice , and the back stretching position , I really love this stretch. The back muscle is usually a really tight spot where we don't normally stretch , and once stretch that there is lots of relieve. Once the stance is develop , it's forever , you can hardly lose it. For anyone who really wants to learn a good art , I really suggest finding a good teacher. A good teacher will always guide you on a safer path. And sometimes simple things might take years to learn (and lots of trial and error) , where a good teacher could give you the path within days or months. I think modern days exercise focus too much on the form and muscle group , where "learning how to use the body properly and how to use the strength in our body" is kind of a missing link. Balancing the modern Strength training and ancient practice is a really difficult thing. The ancient practice is kind of a full system by itself. But spicing up the ancient practice with modern practice is always fun. Even walking will be different when someone knows how to use their body. Hope the ancient practice will get promoted more , this is something we really don't want to lose in the human race.

Super cool to hear about a lineage from the exodus of Shaolin masters who fled China during the revolution. The medicines, the training methods, the hardening, skills like grabbing-the multiple comprehensive styles (e.g., ‘including Bagua dagger contact’), the books [of the forms]. Very interesting!
@Chunda83 жыл бұрын
Hello Shifu Shan and Eero- I've been training a lot of Bagua lately, mine comes from the Wang Shu Jin line, the Cheng Ming. He learned it from Zhang Zhaodong. Normally this is more of a fighting style but I use it for health and meditation. I also like the Liang Zhenpu line, there is a good teacher here in New York in that lineage.

Bodhidharma the Master of Shaolin Temple, his main disciple cut off his right arm to show his dedication to receiving the teachings and was therefore made the next Master to carry on the tradition albeit with only one arm...... Don't be arrogant. One of the most important skills in life is the ability to learn. This has to be done in an engaging way. This allows the listener to clarify their understanding and gives the master the opportunity to catch misunderstanding in the student. We should be grateful that the student makes the mistake for us, or even subconsciously presents a mistake to be clarified despite their true understanding, allowing the greatest span of audience to understand clearly; the message.

Every practitioner is limited by time, technique, and intensity ; the devotions of practice. Diaz would be hard to beat, because of the time , technique, and intensity of his practice. To defeat him you have to match, and excel past, these elements in your personal training regimen.
@AZ-zr5oo3 жыл бұрын
@@pranakhan I agree with what you say. But some styles just don't work. Take Aikido for example. It doesn't matter how much you dedicate yourself to it. You just won't fare well in the cage. The same goes for "eagle/dragon" grip you see this guy talking about. He has taken part in MMA fighting to give himself more credibility, but he could never go up against the big names - despite his 30+ years of training and being a master of his discipline.
