Mind competely blown at 22 minutes! Wow! I wish I had been exposed to linear algebra so much earlier in life. Thank you for taking the time to really hammer home the "WHY" in your videos! It's what makes the "ah HA" moments possible!

Lol after watching the written version of this explanation in your video I was concerned that I was getting lost, but the problem in the 2nd half of the video was awesome seeing how all this tied together...well done Professor B!

I really want to thank you for your teaching, I think you are one of the best people to teach algebra. Thanks a lot.

Is a) and b) of invertibility not simply explaining why Gauss Jordan's method works? All the arithmetic makes these concepts seem far more complicated than they are. It too blew my mind when I found out all you have to do is multiply a matrix by the identity, row reduce, and boom. Matrix inverse found! Iff ofc, det A does not equal 0.

at 24:40 , it is easier if we: 1) R_3 + R_2 >> R_2 2) R_3 + R_1 >> R_1 and then (1/2)R_3 >> R_3

11:05 i dont understand 5R2 = R2, why not 0, 25, 0? and also -4R3 + R1 = R3, -> -4(1) + 4=0 suppose to be 0 but why its -4?

7:48 why does E1 and E1^-1 have no change?
@bedminer14 ай бұрын
since the row operation was a swap between R2 and R3, if you do the same swap, it just swaps back to the original state

So how i know if inverse dont exist ? if i couldnt reach to identity matrix by row operation in left side then the matrix not invertible ?
@nilson-cesar Жыл бұрын
Yep. Remember that A is invertible if and ONLY if I can reduce it to an identity matrix.
