I may have said "length" when meaning order. If we interpret "length" as the number of coefficients, then clearly that is M+1, which is odd. Thanks for the suggestions on the other topics - those are on my list of topics I'd like to cover, but I can't make any promises about how long it will take me to get there.

Unfortunately if M is even M+1 is clearly not odd example M=3 and M+1=4 is even.Yes we want M+1 to be an odd number but it is not clearly sure without saying it.

Hi Barry, your videos are great, however you have a mistake here concerning the symmetry for even and odd filter order. The line of symmetry lies at M/2 is case of M is odd and lies at a mid point in case M is even. You mentioned the opposite. Thanks

Yes, there should be M+1 points... However, this is still a very useful video!

Actually, I believe he's right because as stated before, there're M+1 points so M is the last index.

Here M is the index not number of points. I think he's correct. It's understandable since usually capital letters are used to represent number of data point.

You may adjust to the length by taking the sum from k=0 to N-1. The first one will still be symmetric about N/2.

Hi Barry, Great videos! They're really helpful. I have a question. In type I filters where M : Even and Coefficients are symmetric, the length of the filter will be M+1 (M is the order). Hence, won't the length will be odd?... Right? But, in the video it's mentioned that the length is EVEN. PS : Could you make a series of videos on Multi-rate Processing, Adaptive Processing?
