I like the vinyl and I make sure I buy it from ByAnnie, their 16g vinyl is very high quality and I have never had a pattern stick to it. I also buy their Zippers by the Yard, they come in 4 yards sets of zipper tapes with separate, individual pulls. They have great large zipper pulls.

I always enjoy your episodes, feels like visiting with friends. Molly, you should be able to soften up that evenweave fabric (and Aida too) by soaking with some Dawn or shampoo and a bit of fabric softner. It helps remove the starch like stabilizer that coats the fibers.

Thanks again, ladies, for a very informative and fun video. Kathy, your bags are gorgeous! Molly, I love your aida. I also watch Stitching by the Shore because she is an aida stitcher. When I came back to stitching a fewy3ars ago, I was stitching long neglected projects that had all gone by the wayside while I was raising my children. They were aida and even some plastic canvas ornaments. This past year I found flosstube and saw all the different fabrics. I am working on my first over 2 on a 28 count evenweave. The stitching is fine, but have mercy, the back stitching is killing me! I would absolutely love to shop brick and mortar stores. They are few and far between, however. Hobby Lobby is an hour away and is where I buy my DMC because it is the cheapest, but they have very little fabric choices. I do have some white and cream colors that I am going to play around with dying myself when I get brave enough 😂 My husband and I were discussing online VS brick and mortar the other day and decided that in a way the internet has taken us back to a time when most things were ordered via catalog. Things from clothes, to toys, to even houses. Fortunately, we do have a small shop nearby that has some things, although her main business is framing. I try to support her when possible. Have a great week.

Do you wash and press fabrics before making them into project bags or quilts? Thanks so much!!

Thank you both for a lovely video! I always enjoy all you share.! Molly, I have a similar eye issue. So when I am tired my stitching has to stop. I have been stitching for 40 years or so, so when I had my cataract surgery I was used to stitching on 36 count & I continue to do so until I am tired. Then I just have to do something else.

I love watching you both, thank you for sharing, I stitch on a mix of Aida and linen. I adore your Robin Pickens finish Molly, these charts are on my wish list for one day in the future, so many things to stitch and not enough time! 💗

I also stopped using vinyl on my project bags. I put a tag on the zipper pull to identify my project placed inside. It fun to coordinate fabrics and make floss pouches, thread nests, zipper cases and needle books. I really enjoy your floss tubes.
