I have been knitting with linen and linen blend yarns this past dummer because I want to wear my knitwear every day of the year. My hands do NOT get tired using these plant based yarns and I have not knit a single seamed sweater. Each of my summer garments has turned out beautifully. They are super comfortable to wear in the intense heat we have here in southern New Mexico. They are so much better than store bought cotton tees or tank tops. I strongly encourage everyone to get over the false notion that knitting with linen or other plant based yarnscis "hard" on your hands. Improved knitting practice might remedy the aches that people blame on the yarn.

I thought that a sweater without seams would be better...mind blown! I hope I can learn a lot from you.

Seamless sweaters can certainly be easier but those seams serve a purpose!

Congratulations on your master knitter sweater!! It’s beautiful! Can’t wait to see you do a layout & finished look video. You make great content. I’ve added some suggested topics below, but I know it takes time to make & edit videos, so don’t feel pressured. These are just ideas. I’ve mentioned some wishful thinking vid topics for some basics like: top 5-10 cast ons & top 5-10 cast offs, what each cast on or bind off is best/worst for, etc. Also, how to start center out patterns & options for cast ons for center out or pinhole starts designs, etc. Love your 5-10 sweater/shawl/etc patterns vids & your ‘5 free beginner shawls’ type videos. Any free pattern ideas are appreciated. Many of us are on fixed or tight incomes, especially these past two years. So it’s a blessing to see free patterns, from all designers, especially with tutorials. I would also love learning more about _Elizabeth Zimmermann’s_ tips, tricks & knowledge. As well as an overview of each of her books. I received her sweater & other basics book for Christmas. I think it was her first book (has sweater, mitts, hats, etc on cover in a circle). I asked for her book based off of your recommendation, you spoke of her figuring out the math for pi shawls. I loved hearing how one genius person (female at that) figured out a formula for knitting that makes it easier for all of us, I love her!! Elizabeth Zimmerman is a person I definitely want to learn from & about. Could you go over each of EZ’s books & talk about them? I’d love to find a book with a cheat sheet for the math she developed. Especially for shawls & accessories. But, I don’t know if that book exists & I don’t know where to look in her books to find these formulas. She is a fascinating & brilliant designer. Anyone who can come up with a foolproof formula for a pi shawl. I also love how she & you have shown us that you can take any plain pattern, add a different stitch pattern & it can become a whole new design. Love your shawl & the idea behind it. The yarn is beautiful. I adore the idea of switching stitch patterns when the color changes. Such an easy idea, and it would be great for a mindless yet unique design. One could do this with a striped cake, but maybe for a blanket. It wouldn’t work out like Gauge’s yarn that’s dyed specially for equidistant shawl strips. Gauge’s idea to dye it to work out that way is fascinating. Your idea of changing stitch patterns when the color changes is a great idea. It makes it easy to knit, but it creates a beautiful result that is anything but plain. Hope you’re staying safe & healthy in this new wave. Have a great day. Blessed be.

So much good stuff here! Thank you for leaving such a helpful comment. I have added the ideas for cast ons, etc to my video idea list - but it might take awhile to get to all of them because I have other things on the list too (but I certainly appreciate your ideas!). EZ was truly a gem and contributed so much to the knitting community. At the moment I don't feel qualified enough to break down all her work (there's a lot of it!) but perhaps in the future. If you look at Schoolhouse Press you might find something useful there - that's the publishing company that owns her works (and is run by her family).

@@NerdyKnitting - Thank you for the info on EZ. Definitely could take a lifetime to understand her works & her contributions to the fiber arts. Any highlights or suggestions for her works would be plenty. Take your time. I know all content creators have lists & at least a few vids in drafts ready to edit, film, research, etc. No worries. I’m grateful that you are a creator who listens, replies & even does video clarifications or tutorials - all in response to your audience’s comments & questions. That alone earned you a lifelong subscriber. Lol. Have a great day.

New to your podcast and so glad it popped up on my youtube.. Good knitting info. Your master class knitted cable sweater so pretty. I have several metal needle holders , they work great for keeping stitches from falling off in my knitting bag. Looking forward to more of your podcasts. I do the Norwegian cast on but will look at the Norwegian purl.

Just found your podcast tonight and loved your master knitter sweater. I have been knitting for 10 years, but mostly socks, shawls, cowls but want to make a sweater! I am going to check out Amy Herzog's book. Can you make a recommendation for a first sweater pattern? I guess top down in the round would be best, but just not sure. Since all of the yarn shops have closed in my area, there is no place to take an in person class anymore and I am feeling a bit intimidated to try one by myself. Any suggestions would be very welcome!
