Reason why ak lectures is better than my professor. 1) Introduction/history/background to why we're learning this topic 2) Doesn't skip words(no muttering words/ explains using complete sentences) 3) Explains why, not just how 4) Gives neat writings/diagrams 5) Starts from beginning, finishes to end

This guy is my hero...100% got me through undergrad science classes. I joke that I went to the University of KZbin because excellent online content like this is so much more helpful than many of the lectures and TA's were. Such a talented teacher. Fantastic video - thank you! Question though: how does catalytic efficiency change for each of the 3 reversible inhibitors? It would make sense for it to decrease (since they are inhibitors), but I have a question. Since catalytic efficiency is defined as Kcat/Km, I would assume that a competitive inhibitor would decrease catalytic efficiency because Km increases and Kcat is the same (since Kcat = Vmax/[total enzyme] and Vmax & [total enzyme] don't change). But for an uncompetitive inhibitor, both Km AND Kcat decrease. Wouldn't this not change the ratio of catalytic efficiency?

I didn't understand why the kcat value for uncompetitive inhibition does not change. In fact, we are adding an inhibitor that lowers the enzyme-substrate work efficiency which is the reason why Vmax lowers but why this same concept does not apply to Kmat? pls help I couldn't find an answer to this question on the internet as well.
