She started her formal training by enrolling in Kunming University in 2013, where she studied water conservancy and hydropower engineering. She has continued learning by a tried-and-true method that has stood the test of time; she asked elder tradespeople in her village and the surrounding areas for information, training, and advice. What better guide than someone who has already walked the road and discovered the shortcuts?

OJT is the best way to learn, in my experience. I, myself, am largely self taught in mechanical, electrical, electronics, plumbing, computers and programming. I’ve had to be a jack of all trades to survive and I’m grateful for all those who have taught me these skills.

@@hjemison Much of what I've learned, over the decades, has been "on the job," though I wasn't getting paid, lol! My father-in-law taught us, as he, my wife, and I remodeled our entire house, plumbing, electrical, gas, carpentry, cabinetry, drywalling, painting, etc, etc. There was a certain amount of "deconstruction" that was also needed, because of the cracked and crumbling horsehair plaster in all but one of the rooms. (Hanging sheets of plastic over doorways does NOT stop that dust from traveling, for anyone who might be contemplating the same kind of task!) I would agree with you that hands-on is the best way to learn things; for example, hitting the wrong nail when you're swinging a hammer will definitely improve your memory the next time you pick that tool up! 😁

Yes a smaller pulley. I could see the motor was made very well. So with these motors the sooner it gets up to speed that will stop any excessive current draw on startup. The inductance kicks in and then, all is well. This channel is the best and all is done correctly. Cheers from Australia

I'd have the owner check his power leads to the motor. The possibility of "dirty" lines would aid in the burn out. The smaller pulley was an excellent solution as well.

Hey Ling, these motors that you are packing around in you plastic bucket are beginning to appear somewhat bigger and heavier. Please get you a personalized battery powered electric motor all terrain tires flatbed to haul this larger stuff around. Wouldn't want to see you hurt your back.

By using an electromagnetic switch, if an overcurrent continues to flow, the circuit can be cut off before the motor burns out, preventing it from burning out.

She doesn't use sand. She uses blasting media, which can be iron or garnet or carborundum or any other grit to fine course media. Even ground Walnut Shells. And the outdoor booth does have an exhaust fan to recycle the media. Just because it's called "Sand Blasting" doesn't mean they use regular sand. That is from the 1900s.
