@matthewmuir8884 Жыл бұрын
@@BlackEpyon Maybe, but I think that would be better as something saved for the end of the story (kind of like the original Zorro's death at the end of The Mask of Zorro) and the new Link spending most of the game being infused with some of the Triforce of Courage's power by Old Link in a similar way that Ganondorf infused Zant with some of the Triforce of Power's power. Another thing that would be cool would be if Old Link essentially acts as the adventuring-companion in the game; communicating to Link through a magic device like Tetra and the King sometimes do in Wind Waker. Imagine New Link using that item to ask for hints, and Old Link thinking to himself, "I hope it never took me this long to figure out a puzzle when I was your age." One more small thing that could be interesting would be if the new Link has more personal conflict with Ganon's main minion (like Wind Waker Link vs the Helmaroc King because of the Helmaroc King abducting Link's sister), so Old Link initially keeps Ganon occupied while new Link fights said minion, and then new Link fights Ganon immediately afterward.

Someone didn't read Zelda's diary. He's just quiet when he's under stress. "Bit by bit, I've gotten Link to open up to me. It turns out he's quite a glutton. He can't resist a delicious meal! When I finally got around to asking why he's so quiet all the time, I could tell it was difficult for him to say. But he did. With so much at stake, and so many eyes upon him, he feels it necessary to stay strong and to silently bear any burden. A feeling I know all too well... For him, it has caused him to stop outwardly expressing his thoughts and feelings." He had to have had several conversations with Zelda in order to open up to her "bit by bit" Also, in several of his memories he is seen alone with each of the champions. They all had quite a bit to say to him, unless they all like to monologue for hours on end. And I doubt waking up to not knowing anything about yourself and being sent on a quest by a fraking ghost is a relaxing time that allows one to loosen up.

The oldest we’ve ever seen Link was 17 years old. That is of course if you discount the BotW Link’s chronological age. Since the Zelda franchise is 33 years old, I think it would be cool and speak to a lot of the older fan base if Nintendo went ahead and gave us Link as an older protagonist. Hell, at this point, a Link in his 40s would be relatable. lol

It's possible that when the hero "reincarnates" it's just the hero's spirit housed within the master sword choosing the next hero to share the power with. This would explain having two heroes at one time as well as the hero of legend retaining some of the strength despite not having the original masterword. So not only would Fi and the power of the goddess be in the mastersword but also the hero himself in some ambiguous form.

Hylians view them as prostituting savages...which as any woman can tell you, when a man thinks he has a “right” to you, ya tend to go Amazon just to be left alone.) And the Hylians are a pretty racist bunch to other groups, the Gerudo just get the shortest end of the stick (well, except maybe the Sheikah-servant race whose numbers have mysteriously been decimated in most games they appear? Like seriously I could write an entire fanfiction series with how much headcanon I have for Gramps just watching this: Link becoming so powerful and proud he challenges the gods and usurps one, but it's this long-drawn out diety conspiracy that humbles him. He sets out on one last quest to cure his immortality. The Triforce does not grant his wish, so to gain an even greater power, he learns that he must release enough energy for the wish he needs. He strikes it with a magical hammer with his Godly Strength, so hard it shakes the Dark World and creates an imperfect copy, of it and the Triforce, creating Lorule. This returns the mantle to the God of Valor, sufficiently weakening him enough for the spirit of the hero to become reincarnated once again. hmm ok the drugs are wearing off

@tristanneal95525 жыл бұрын
I think the reincarnation problem comes from the Buddhist idea of reincarnation. In that type of reincarnation, Link would have to die, because it’s a single spirit (atman) transferring to a new body after death. However there’s nothing to say for sure that it works this way in Zelda. Also, the hero of legend and the man’s player name is Legendary? Icing on the cake. I totally buy this theory.
@mackchop32745 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's what's getting me side with this theory despite that counter arguement. If the hero shade, even as an astral projection, can teach TP Link his techniques, doesn't that mean the Hero can't be a soul for soul reincarnation? The hero's shade would just literally be the soul of TP Link at that point.
@XonyMudd5 жыл бұрын
I don't think any of the Links are reincarnations (I used to). I think it was said that they're all different Links except where it is stated that a certain Link is the same as a previous Link. If they were all reincarnated, then Link wouldn't have to find the Triforce of Courage and would always just naturally possess it like Ganon\dorf since he actually reincarnates.
@Lillyz11125 жыл бұрын
XonyMudd well it’s stated in Hyrule Historia that every Link is a reincarnation of the original Link (the one in Skyward Sword) so it’s officially canon. Every Link is basically the same Link, just without the memories of his previous life.
@mackchop32745 жыл бұрын
@@Lillyz1112 The problem here is the logic contradicts itself then. If Link is a fully reincarnated soul every time, then hero shade shouldn't exist, because he would essentially be TP Link's spirit. To me, there's 3 options. There's a courageous essense that each Link is born with. Basically, it's more of an inherited attribute that is constantly being manifested in the heros that comes when there is need. The 2nd being that TP Link was somehow inwardly communing with his own reincarnated soul when he recieved lessons from the shade. Or 3rd, we just say they mixed it up, and it just doesn't mesh. I like trying to make sense of it, instead of just backing out by saying they got it wrong. That said, option 1 makes the most sense to me.
@Lillyz11125 жыл бұрын
Joshua Coulter I think it does work with the hero‘s Shade cause he’s dead, the way I see it is that he’s just some lingering ghost-thingy that stays around after fulfilling his purpose. It isn’t stated that the Hero‘s Shade still has his soul, it might just be a bunch of negative energy that stayed around cause of regrets etc (cause it’s stated that OoT Link had quite a load of regrets and such). You first point is pretty much debunked because it’s specifically stated in the book that the soul of SS Link gets reborn. The 2nd could work as well cause it’s all playing inside his head basically, it seems that Link is always knocked out during their meetings, Midna never questions it either.

The soul of the champion of the goddess reincarnates every time the world is in great peril. So maybe it's not reincarnation process, but something like "being blessed or bestowed with the essence of the champion" and this blessing can apparently be shared. Now, Gramps being stronger than the two main bosses of the game makes me think that he still has the blessing or the soul of the champion within... he could have saved the world again by himself. He then says that he’s 130 years old. Okay, so I’m guessing everyone assumed that Link was about 118 but he must be older than that. When the guard was a child, Link wouldn’t have been born...unless he was older than that. Also, Mipha mentions in the “Mipha’s Touch” memory cutscene that, and I quote, “I thought it was odd that you looked older much sooner than I did.” What if he looked that way because he WAS older. So, had Link lied about his age? Regardless, he forgot about it from amnesia so it doesn’t really matter now, but still...

When Link was sent back in time at the end of OoT, he ceased to exist in that timeline. He did not die. He ceased to exist. His soul no longer existed to be reincarnated. Yet Wind Waker Link is born. I personally believe "an incarnation of the hero" and "the spirit of the hero" are not referring to a reincarnation of the soul. The definition of an incarnation is not exclusively limited to a REincarnation. Just as you can have school spirit, so too you can have the spirit of the hero. Similarly, we know that more than 1 Zelda has existed at a time. The Zelda in the 1st game is not the same as the Zelda in the 2nd game (TAoL), yet the Link is the same Link. And we have a few examples of a mother Zelda teaching her daughter Zelda how to be...Zelda. Also, Demise's curse. "An incarnation of my hatred shall ever follow" "Those who share the blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero" The words used: Incarnation, not REincarnation. My hatred, not my soul. Blood, not soul. Spirit, not soul. Could there be more than 1 incarnation of hatred at a time? Vaati predates Ganondorf. OoT Ganondorf dies in TP. Another male Gerudo named Ganondorf is born in 4SA. That 2nd Ganon & Vaati are clearly alive at the same time in 4SA. Could Zant be an incarnation of hatred? Onox? Aghanim? Dethl? The magician who put TAoL Zelda in a magic ageless coma? Malladus? Yuga? Bellum? Majora?

@@AncientSkullKid the encyclopedia retconned the Oracle games to take place after links awakening than before links awakening. They did this because of ALBW and the upcoming links awakening. Wow, I didn't even know this character existed in the game as a secret boss fight. When you connected the dots with the evidence I got chills, I think this theory is awesome.

11:00 The fact that Vatti is trapped in the 4 sword during the events of oot and the rest of the downfall timeline (during Ganondorf's rule) kinda proves that there can be multiple reincarnations at the same time (as Vaati and Ganondorf are both reincarnations of Demise).
@matthewmuir8884 Жыл бұрын
No, only Ganon is an incarnation of Demise. Vaati is just a Minish that became a powerful and evil wind mage.

Another hint that he's a Link is where he looks to be standing in the village with those 7 stones on the ground. Him in the middle with 6 all around him just like Link and the 6 sages in the sacred realm.

The music for Gramps in the End Credits put the nail in the wood, and being called "Legendary" hit it right on the head! I am convinced he is an older Link.
