LYRICS: [Chester Bennington] Don't you hold your breath 'cause I'm not coming down The battlefields have left me only scars And floating in the dark, I'm swimming in the sound Of voices that should never been apart [Charlie Chaplin] To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people And so long as men die, liberty will never perish Soldiers! Don't give yourselves to brutes Men who despise you - enslave you Who regiment your lives - tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel! Who drill you - diet you - treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men - machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men! [Mike Shinoda] I'd never been a coward, I'd never seen blood You'd sold me an ocean, and I was lost in the flood We were counting on a leader, we were driven by need But couldn't take temptation, and we were blinded by greed You were steady as a sniper, we were waiting on a wire So we never saw it coming when you ran from the fire You can try intimidation and you can try to ignore But when the time comes calling, yeah, you are gonna get yours [Eminem] Ayo, turn the beat up a little bit. Ayo! Shut up and listen (I'm a soldier) These shoulders hold up so much They won't budge, I'll never fall or fold up (I'm a soldier) Even if my collarbones crush or crumble I will never slip or stumble (I'm a soldier) These shoulders hold up so much They won't budge, I'll never fall or fold up (I'm a soldier) Even if my collarbones crush or crumble I will never stumble I spit it slow so these kids know that I'm talkin' to 'em Give it back to these damn critics and sock it to 'em I'm like a thug with a little bit of Pac influence I spew it, and look how I got you bitches rockin' to it You motherfuckers could never do it like I could do it Don't even try it, you'll look stupid, do not pursue it Don't ever in your life try to knock the truest I spit the illest shit ever been dropped in two-inch So ticky-tock, listen as the sound ticks on the clock Listen to the sound of Kim as she licks on a cock Listen to the sound of me spillin' my heart through this pen Motherfuckers know that I'll never be Marshall again Full of controversy until I retire my jersey 'Til the fire inside dies and expires at thirty And Lord, have mercy on any more of these rappers that verse me And put a curse on authorities, in the face of adversity, I'm a- [Mike Shinoda & Eminem] (I'm a soldier) You now I see Keeping everything inside (I'm a soldier) You now I see Even when I close my eyes (I'm a soldier) You now I see Keeping everything inside (I'm a soldier) You now I see Even when I close my eyes [Chester Bennington] Another day, your truth will come You're gonna pay for what you've Pay for what you've done You'll get what's yours and face your crime You'll tell them, "Give me back what's mine" "Give me back what's mine!" ("What's mine!" "Give me, give me back what's mine!" "What's mine!" "What's mine!" "Give me back what's mine!") [Mike Shinoda] Today, we stood on the wall We laughed at the sun, we laughed at the guns We laughed at it all And when they, they told us to go We paid them no mind like every other time But little did we know [Eminem] Yeah, straighten up little soldier! You got me? [Mike Shinoda] Turn my mic up louder, I got to say something Lightweights steppin' aside when we come in Feel it in your chest, the syllables get pumping People on the street then panic and start running Words on loose leaf sheet, complete coming I jump in my mind, I summon the rhyme I'm dumping Healing the blind, I promise to let the sun in Sick of the dark ways we march to the drumming Jump when they tell us that they wanna see jumping Fuck that, I wanna see some fists pumping Risk something, take back what's yours Say something that you know they might attack you for 'Cause I'm sick of being treated like I had before Like it's stupid standing for what I'm standing for Like this war's really just a different brand of war Like it doesn't cater to rich and abandon poor Like they understand you, in the back of their jet When you can't put gas in your tank These fuckers are laughing their way to the bank, and cashing their check Asking you to have compassion and have some respect For a leader so nervous in an obvious way Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay And the rest of the world watching at the end of the day In the living room, laughing like, "What did he say?" Amazing work! To hear Chesters Voice gives me big chills. If old songs or not, this is a wonderful up to date video. The phrases are very in time and so true. The truth is coming out of the darkness. Just look closer! Chester and Chris wanted to tell the truth and they got the same fate like Kennedy. The darkness will die, because the light is growing! Think positive, wake up and stand up for yourself and for all the souls on earth! We want freedom, we want love, we want the truth, we wanna live in light!

I am the man in the black robe. In life, I watched men who were greedy and men who were poor-those who took and those who lost-so if life is unequal and unfair, I shall change that. I am the one who raises his scythe and harvests the grain of life without discrimination. While each grain never equals another, some big, some small, they all fall equally to the edge of my blade, so do not hate me or call me unfair because, in the end, I was the only true one there.

I saw the light fade from the sky On the wind I heard a sigh As the snowflakes cover my fallen brothers I will say this last goodbye Night is now falling So ends this day The road is now calling And I must away Over hill and under tree Through lands where never light has shone By silver streams that run down to the Sea Under cloud, beneath the stars Over snow one winter’s morn I turn at last to paths that lead home And though where the road then takes me I cannot tell We came all this way But now comes the day To bid you farewell Many places I have been Many sorrows I have seen But I don’t regret Nor will I forget All who took the road with me Night is now falling So ends this day The road is now calling And I must away Over hill and under tree Through lands where never light has shone By silver streams that run down to the Sea To these memories I will hold With your blessing I will go To turn at last to paths that lead home And though where the road then takes me I cannot tell We came all this way But now comes the day To bid you farewell I bid you all a very fond farewell.

I love this. I do wish you had included part of the second verse of hands held high, "my brother have a little red book with a broken spine, in the back he handwrote a quote inside, 'when the rich wage war, it's the poor who die.'" Also, from "in my remains", chorus, "like an army falling one by one by one, would have worked well with the part with Eminem's "I'm a soldier" verses. Anyway, superbly done.

"To those who can hear me I say, do not despair. The misery that is now upon us, is but the passing of greed; the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people, will return to the people, and so long as men die, liberty will never perish." As dark as the words are, a message of hope. A man often considered a comedian, said something so ... real ? Many a truth said in jest. I cried at the quote: ... "... Don't give yourself to these unnatural men ... machine men ... With machine minds and machine hearts. You are not machines. You are not cattle. You are men." Never more relevant than today.
