The song is about his mistrust of everything! From his parents, society, all the things he's been through with the sexual abuse as a child and other crap he's faced of going to someone for help and not being believed.

I think this is about his thoughts of his inner child. The struggles of childhood sexual abuse, the manipulation of what that person had on him, Chester must have loved them at one point, and the confusion of the abuse takes its toll on the soul, mind, and body tremendously. I’ve experienced this, and it comes with so much pain, sorrow, trauma, and shame. It’s those thoughts of a child who feels like it’s their fault, and starts feeling shame and self hatred, and distrust for everyone and everything, that’s where I believe the riot is about, the mental war inside from a child to an adult. Absolutely heartbreaking. 💔

Talking about depression, abuse or addiction has always been " taboo". Linkin Park found a way to make these subjects relatable and easier to talk about. Their songs showed people that they are not alone and don't have to go through their troubles by themselves. With the emotion he put into every lyric, Chester was great at making you feel as if he knew exactly what you were dealing with.

Let's put it like this, Chester was sexually abused as a child by a family friend, someone his parents trusted with him. But he lost faith in the people around him because there was so much more going on around him that they couldn't see him or realize that he was hurting. Until he spoke out. Like the kid in the video, everything else stopped once he opened his mouth and their world was brought crashing down on their heads with the reality of what they let happen to him. Artists create like a mini biography with each song they sing, a little bit of their reality bleeds into their music. Which only makes his death all the more tragic because he was singing about his pain and self loathing, all his anger, depression and doubt and still, no one saw he was crying out for help. I still think that's why his music was so impactful on people who had issues, because they could relate to each songs emotions

Volbeat is a unique band to listen too. Their influences are Metallica, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Social Distortion.. some great songs.. "Doc Holiday", "Pelvis on Fire", "the everlasting", "Lola Montez", "last day under the sun", "Dagan for" (has some Danish lyrics).. but great message in the song. Michael Poulsen has one hell of a unique voice. You either love it or hate it.

Okay, i've always seen the lyrics as meaning he's in a toxic relationship and yet he still loves this person and keeps staying around them despite it being bad for him. So he's saying take everything from the inside to keep him from going back, he can't trust HIMSELF when he's around this person, he can't trust his own thoughts and actions to be for his own good. It seems a little too emotional to be about how the government screws everyone over.

Wrong! It's not Chester's son! People like you always came up with this bullshit under every reaction of From The Inside music video. It's random kid from Prague where this music video was filmed.

@@PPRKUT88 I saw that on another reaction and I was like, how do I not know that? Tried to google if it actually was Jaime in the video, but couldn’t find it anywhere, thank you for clearing that up! I never even thought the kid looked like Jaime 😅
@PPRKUT883 жыл бұрын
@@lindvall81 I dont know where was this rumour even started ) And people who dont know - easy fall for it. I hope you know that Jaime was born way after Chester and Elka (Jaime and Isaiah's mom) split. So Chester doesnt know he had a son from Elka. Chester didnt mentioned about him until 2006, when he adopted him and Isaiah. I always thought that he didnt knew about Jaime until that moment but someone who read Samantha's book says that there is words from Chester about it where he said that he got to know about Jaime from Elka in 2004.

One of my favorite LP songs. This has nothing to do with government IMO. They never write about that -- it's all internal feelings. I see the video representing inner turmoil and having issues trusting anyone (as Ghost Lee says below, he was sexually abused as a child, bullied in school, had depression and addiction). This is Chester showing his vulnerability (as usual) and raging over it.

You cant trust govs but you can trust your ppl. Doesn't matter what nation you are you are ONE and WHOLE u are part of this and if you refuse or try to be ignorant even try to step on your ppl they will crush you like a chicken wing for supper. The nation as a whole is the power, power tries to separate a country into smaller parts to control ( you give some stuff, you take from other things) in the end nation is fighting for you not you and that is the beauty in politics. I may be dramatic but old ways are the better ways. Be a whole and be unite is the true power of all. No gov will stand a chance and will be crushed before even saying I.
