Who woulda thought Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw would bury the hatchet and do music reactions together! All joking aside though, I appreciate the honesty of the reaction. I have to respectfully disagree though. Linkin Park is and has always been more than just Chester (he would've been the first to say so). And just to quickly address the concern that they will never be as big as they were: chart performance and ticket sales of the new world tour already kinda say otherwise. The future is bright. And I for one am looking forward to all of it! 🤘

Its Mike's band actually.. They founded it.. Chester came along afterwards.. I mean yes he was legendary but if you really were a fan of chester you'd know he wanted this for the people he loved. He wouldn't be selfish..

Correction my friend the Band was founded by Mike, Rob Bourdon and Brad Delson in 1996-2000 in Agoura High School in Los Angeles, California and their first band name was XERO

"This band is never going to be as big as they were with chester" Very much not true for the later years of LP. These 2 new songs are already outperforming the later years of chester led music. A ton of the streams on their later music now is from people missing chester and giving the songs another chance. Especially with the added meaning. Heavy is the crown ALREADY have 44 Million views on the video alone

Not gonna go into the fact that Mike Shinoda was the brain behind writing so he can do with his music what he likes. But I would like to address the statement “they will never be that big without Chester”. First of all, I watched all 13 live shows they did this year, all were packed full, from 24000 people to 65000 people respectively to the size of hall/stadium. Crowd was crazy, you can see they are loving it. Singing, yelling, hands up and stuff. What’s interesting they are now all 5 new singles live and crowd is singing those songs as much as old hits. On every show Mike ask crowd “who is seing LP for the first time” and always around half yells. And at the end, on spottify LP had around 40 million monthly listeners and now after new album they are up closing 55 million. Got so many awards and No1 album prizes. I’d say bro that said LP will not be big without Chester is wrong when we see reality. And second undisputed point for people who were Chester and not LP fans, people that think Chester was the reason of LP success. Well Chester had album in 2009 with the band Dead by sunrise and had only moderate success, then in 2013 he had album with the band Stone temple pilots and it had less success than former work with departed singer Scott Weiland. If Chester was a reason of LP success then those 2 bands should have fly but they didn’t. Similar with Emily. She had a band for 20 years no big success. But now in LP came big success. People will say “oh but Warner only took them because of Chester.” Well, warner took them now too with Emily cause they know really good that LP mastermind is Mike Shinoda. He knows what he’s doing. Emily is probably the best choice that came so organically. And they’re big ;)

It’s Mike’s band, he wrote and produced most of the music - he did write a lot of it for Chester, but his music shouldn’t die just because the voice for his words made a terrible mistake.

Mike is a musical genius; I'm sure that without him, no one would have ever heard of Chester. A great voice alone isn't enough - Mike is the one who made that diamond shine. It doesn't surprise me that the guy who said he hates him has tattoos on his face

She’s perfect for LP 2.0 and she has similar traits to Chester, SONG SLAPSSSSS 🤘🏻 She’s not a replacement, she’s the next era, and she’s been killing it on tour with the old songs man, a true LP fan and fan of Chester here from day one and I couldn’t be more happy to have LP back in 2024

The bands do not belong to the fans, but to the members of the bands, to each one of them. They don't have to do what each fan wants, because for each fan it can mean different things, but rather what they consider is best for themselves. The fan then has the right to remain a fan or leave. Stop it all Chester, Chester, Chester, let him go and think what he would want for his friends if he could say it. That's all.

New era for the band , new songs , new singer ( Emily 🔥 ) , new tour dates . As a LP fan since 2001 , I’m so happy seeing that guys smile again on stage . R. I. P to legendary Chester but the show must go on for these guys , 7 years took them to get on their feet, the real LP fans will support them , Chester’s fans on the other side will keep listen the first 2 albums cause after ”Minutes to Midnight” release on 2007, they started to hate the band for 10 years ( facts ) . I'm a OG fan of LP and loved Chester for all that he was and all that he did but the band was there before him. i will never forget all the good and bad moments in my life that is voice helped me to go forward. But at the same time he is no longer with us, I cried for the loss of someone that i never knowed but that touched my heart, and also cried listening to the comeback . Let's live in the present and move forward and give them the support they deserve it's a retribution for all they have donne for all of us! I'm sure LP would have continued with Chester, but sadly, he made a terrible mistake, and died. His band mates have spent 7 years recovering from it, and are ready to move on. Emily can never replace Chester, but she can succeed him and provide her own voice. Where ever Chester is now, hopefully he would be approve of Emily and be proud of where this new Linkin Park is going.

Mike and Joe are the bread and butter of the band... The sound and the lyrics... ✌️✌️✌️... It's normal that Chester made a fan base coz he's the singer but actually most of the songs are created by Mike... And they are band not chesters band only.. RIP to Chester and am also a fan of you but i am a LP fan... Mike is genius well done

No LP or this LP? Yes, if they would stop playing you still have old records, but try look up some videos from their last shows from Hamburg or London... You would never experience that kind of atmosphere with just records. Go to LP concert is definitely on my bucket list for a next year

thing is LP were struggling because they went off the LP sound that THEY INVENTED. now they're going back to being themselves. Chester was never the whole band. it was always mike's band, and you saying he cant have his livelihood because chester took his own life.

Linkin park were never struggling. They chose to do a new style each album. Linkin Park managed their finances via their own investing firm. They were one of the first private investors in lyft, robin hood and Spotify. They don't need to sell to make money. Their investments are worth more than their catalogue. Mike showed on twitch he could make a hybrid theory style song in an hour with minimal effort. That's why I always hoped they would never go back to their old sound and keep reinventing.

Queen did it, no one can replace Freddie Mercury but Adam Lambert does great. AC/DC did it, Bon Scott was one of a kind but Brian Johnson is also legend. STP did it, with Chester. And there are others. It's possible to move on with a new front person & make it work but it is definitely a risk. I for one think that Emily has been slaying in the concerts so far.

i'm enough of chester bigotic fans, they think LP should change its name just because without chester, they think LP will be falling without chester, they think LP is disrespecting chester by recruiting a new vocalist, and they think Linkin Park is chester.
