Easy explained.. Chester isn't really dead. But the public is thinking that he is, so he has to hide his entire life to protect his beloved ones. This song is new, freshly recorded but linkin park is making us think that the newly released songs are 20+ years old

It's actually unreal how topical this song is now. This shows just how nuanced Linkin Park was lyrically. They were never just on the side of the angry and frustrated, even us, as the listeners, they told us "Yo, take a step back. Consider your emotions. Understand what you feel. Are you really miserable, or does it just feel like you are?" I never related to LP because I was "broken" or miserable. I related to them because they understood us. Not just the frustration, but the imaginary obstacles we put in our own way.

This song speaks a lot of truths. I think we all met someone that just wanted to be more of a victim, that their pain was "larger" than our own and even though we understood their pain, they did not understand ours and even blamed us for being hurt and broken. I've met people like that in 2022, where their problems were larger than life and if you wanted them to be a source of comfort, they never held out their hand to comfort you in any way and even made things worse. Even after 6 years, Chester is still here speaking facts

This would have been a top 10 all-time Linkin Park song, and easily the best song out of Meteora. I can already imagine how the shows with this song in the set could have been, with Chester leaning over the edge of the stage and people jumping in the chorus! This is a HIT! The synth and melody are so beautiful, it has a sadness to it, but it's a beautiful kind of sadness. And the chorus just explodes with energy! It gives a good contrast to the song, and it was done so well! I wish I could have been in the room with them when they made this one. This is one of my top favourite songs by them now! It has the feeling as though this song is the bridge between "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora," like this was one of the earlier Meteora songs they made. The instrument sound and delivery sound as if it was made back in Hybrid Theory days, but it also sounds more mature than what was on "Hybrid Theory". Yet it has something that I can find in songs from "Minutes to Midnight," and "Living Things". This is honestly getting better and better as I listen to it more and more. Honestly, this could have been their best song ever with a bit more work. I absolutely love it. I wish Chester were here to sing it live. Thinking about that right now, wanting to not lose Chester is selfish. It was hard being Chester. He did not want to go, but he was trapped in the corner, and he felt like, at that time, this was the only way to stop hurting. It's a conflict between loving him and wishing he wouldn't leave us, thus making him suffer this torturous life he had. For most people life is good, yeah, we all get the occasional down or sad day, but now imagine living like this for most of your life. This is the real and true nature of depression. RIP Chester, you're missed dearly.

You hit nailed it 🤝❤️! From a lyrical standpoint this is in league with their most prolific, emotionally intelligent, introspective yet externally cognizant, and universal truth driven lyrics. Whether we’re talking about, “Halfway Right,” “The Little Things Give You Away,” or, “Talking To Myself,” the latter of which Chester wrote from his wife Talinda’s perspective any of the times she tried reaching out to Chester when he had ended up in a deep depression or struggling with his suicidal ideation. Also, musically this does fuckin HIT! 🙌🏼 If you or anyone else likes to add the best bonus tracks in with the main record on a playlist? This fits exceedingly well between, “Hit The Floor,” and, “Easier To Run,” in terms of sequence flow, feeling tone, and energy level. And, you’re right, I love how much this has in common with the structure of, “Faint,” and, “Crawling,” yet the subtle elements Joe added to Chester’s Pre-Chorus are so distinctive 🤌 This shit’s great 👏🏼❤️

非常同意, 現在的韓團, 香港的mirror, 老實說很令我噁心...完全沒有共鳴. 音樂應該係反映音樂家的思維和經歷, 再用技術刻劃將意識形象化. Linkin Park almost fullfilled what quality of a musician should be. They just never disappoint us.

Easily the best demo from Meteora20. Even beats many of the album tracks. But i can understand why this didn't make it to the original Meteora. It's very different and doesn't have the same energy as the other tracks from this era. Hearing this now makes me appreciate these "demo" releases even more. Linkin Park being timeless, confirmed again. This will play in my playlist for a looong time. :)

@@AttilatheThrilla I'm so sorry to hear about your hospitalization. I heard about Chester on the radio as I was driving home from...somewhere. I don't even remember what I was doing, but I remember hearing the news, and I thought "No way, this must be a hoax!" I pulled over immediately into a parking lot and looked it up on my phone. Once I realized it wasn't a hoax, I cried for about half an hour in my car, alone in that parking lot.

I rarely find a song I feel obligated to scream along with, but this is one of them. I got out of a very toxic 2.5 year relationship a few months ago and I didn’t see how toxic it was until after we broke up. She did all of this, while I always tried to just move on with life after I struggled or fell down. She always wanted to complain, pass the blame, and be the victim. Nothing was ever her fault Thank you for putting my feelings into words for me Linkin Park

This song is about how some people tend to constantly talk about their problems and make themselves out to be the biggest victim. The singer can relate to this, as they used to be like that too. However, they eventually realized that constantly dwelling on their misfortunes wasn't helping anyone. The singer encourages these people to try and see things from a different perspective, instead of constantly seeking sympathy and complaining. They believe that everyone has the power to overcome their struggles and become someone who is not just angry and broken.
